Erdogan links Sweden's NATO membership to Turkey's EU accession
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, in an unexpected move, said on Monday the European Union should open the way for Ankara's accession to the bloc before Turkey's parliament approves Sweden's bid to join the NATO military alliance.

That's partly due to Hungary and Poland supporting each other. One country can be handled, but two is a problem. Still, I can understand that a country would hesitate to join if there wasn't some guarantee to block things specific to one country.
Does Turkey honestly think Cyprus will ever let them into the EU before they stop occupying the North? Note: I'm not Cypriot nor in Cyprus, but I spent a lot of time there for work. It makes zero difference what the rest of NATO wants.
Fat chance. The EU already has pocket dictators with Hungary and Poland, no way they let Turkey in and turn it into a clown show.
