Do any of you still enjoy MMOs?
I hated them when I was kid so I missed the golden age (also didn't really have money for the good ones).
Now I'm very entrenched into FFXIV and GW2 but there isn't really a community here on lemmy for them.

I played WoW for over 10 years, and I can barely think of anything I did that left much of a lasting impression. Without friends who play it, there's nothing to draw me back in, Playing good single player games with compelling writing has left me enjoying my time playing games way more, and having more to share with other friends who also play games. This has become a thing I can share with my partner way more that if I was still playing WoW for hours a day.
That's something I can relate to. When I was playing a lot of Elden Ring my wife enjoyed watching it a lot. Not so much any of these MMOs.
Tbh I feel like I spend way too much time on them, but I got swept in the need to get some milestones done before I'm satisfied dropping them.
