It's not pedantry. It's literally one of the two images you put in this meme.
The whole point of snake oil salesman was that what they were selling was useless bullshit. Snake oil isn't a thing, so comparing it to actual literal oil is silly.
It is absolutely not one of their biggest positions, not even close. It's only 5% of their total investment. These claims are really easy to fact check and prove false

No such thing as a billionaire who isn't destructive to society. Warren Buffet is less crass, but no less destructive to society than Elon, Mark, Sam, etc. He just attempts to present better, a Mitch McConnell to their Donald Trump.
Also he does invest heavily in oil, not that that really matters. Billionaires shouldn't exist to warp society to their power/capital's will.
In fact, one of Berkshire's top 20 holdings is Chevron, among the worst of the worst. 19.4 billion in filthy, unaccountable to society chevron oil holdings.
Everyone here agrees ideologically. It’s simply that you chose an investor of reliable companies, which is pretty far removed from selling snake oil, because it’s a scam. They’re both bad for society, just in different ways, and it’s different enough to distract from the message of the meme. I’m pretty sure most of us would argue that billionaires are worse than snake oil salesmen due to their wide reaching impact, but regardless, straightforward messaging is necessary to avoid things like this. Pedantry or not, most people would probably have the same reaction because it’s inconsistent. They’re both profit obsessed bad people, but so is a dirty car salesman or the mafia.
