To play devil's advocate, there's quite a lot of paranoia around air travel these days. Security theater or not, I could see an inexperienced flight attendant getting antsy about someone asking to help with the tech on a plane. A lot of the linked messages seem to agree.
That being said, waiting until they wrote the complaint makes it seem more petty. And yet, it's hard to judge without knowing how exactly the offer was presented.
As a small business person responsible for the bookkeeping of our two businesses, I have often wanted to offer to do the jobs of some "accounting" departments I work with b2b with since they clearly don't know what the hell they're doing. I relate to this majorly and wish that idiots were capable of accepting free help.
