My whole childhood the Gates was touted as this super altruistic, good rich person who was all about charity. It was only after I found out about the whole Oxford vaccine thing (indenting my aside/rant)
that I found out that the Foundation was always just a way to rehabilitate an image of ruthlessness I never knew he had. I guess it worked, given how he was discussed when I was growing up, but hopefully he won't be able to do it again.
Gates has always been a piece of shit and I hate how he became the poster boy of Reddit because he set up a tax-beneficial charity to clean up his image. I got doxxed for bringing it up in one of his AMAs.
Is it better that he gave money to charity than for him not to? Yeah, sure. But I won't be fooled into thinking he's a great guy. He's a piece of shit with a great PR team. The world would be better without his shitty monopoly.
