"Ready Player One," set in a future where people enter a virtual-reality simulation to escape the real world, is coming soon to a real (but virtual) platform.
dAMN dude usually the author isn't the one who makes the dystopian story a reality.
The first movie made a net profit of like $450 million and I think they're still discussing whether to make a sequel of the second book because everyone said that it sucked ass.
I did read the first book and it leaned into the dystopian parts a lot more than the movie despite the ending being equally lib. Like the movie has a drone flying in a pizza delivery in the first couple minutes of the movie when in the book everyone eats nutrient paste.
I knew someone who watched that movie as a part of some defense contractor recruitment thing. He was so disgusted he converted to Islam after that. Needless to say he did not take the job.
