Most car manufacturers are giving up on their shitty in-house UI's in favor of Android Auto and Car play because that's what customers actually want. There is momentum and companies love taking advantage of it.
CES is also happening right now so there are a lot of car announcements.
That's not true. Android Auto and Car play have been around for a long time but most OEMs refuse to integrate them or are moving away from them so that they can charge their customers for redundant subscriptions they get on their phones for free.
Honestly really surprised, I thought it was too integrated in Android to work with GrapheneOS. I think that might finally convince me to replace my dying pixel with a new one.
