In Cairo, China’s foreign minister and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukri urged an immediate end ‘to all acts of violence, killing and targeting of civilians and civilian establishments’.
Isn't this... A huge break from traditional Chinese foreign policy?
Calling for the sovereignty of a de facto independent state? I don't see how this statement could be made unless a huge leap has been made in cross-Strait relations with Taiwan. Maybe Lai's statement on the DPP not pursuing de jure independence was enough, which is significantly different from Tsai's posturing.
The rise of China might actually bring peace to the middle east. The Chinese for starters aren't Christian zealots who believe in Genesis 12:3 literally like the US.
