  • Granted, what were the Soviet forces supposed to do? Keep pushing past the lines established during the Yalta conference and fire on the British and Americans to trigger a Third World War? What would the Soviets have gained from several million more dead? In our world they were already facing a devastating demographics crisis that has lasting effects till today, and even if they had somehow achieved some sort of victory, the population would have crashed to irrecoverable levels.

      • True, but that was an extremely small clique that was laughed at and told to can it. McArthur and Churchill were considered insane for their assault plans.
