On Ubuntu I was using sudo with no problem this morning but this evening my password is incorrect... I don't think there's anything I can do...
My question is, can I move my Lemmy instance from this machine to another? I understand very little about this. I'm very new at this... So please eli5.
You can mount the disk on a different Linux installation and just grab the docker volumes and config files and recreate it.
Kind of strange to get hacked this way though. Are you sure you've been hacked?
No I'm not sure at all but it's just so so weird! It's an old password that I shouldn't have used at all being so old and basic. It's just annoying typing in your password on Linux all the time lol
Single user mode, change root password.
Thing is, if you were owned it's super hard to safely find and presents they left you. It's best to take your data to offline disks and wipe.
you probably just have to wait 10 minutes for the wrong password lock to expire
