f1=B Ng3 23. 0-1 Chess with Knooks open game, White resigns. Game over.
Thanks to everyone who participated.
This was an open game of Chess where the top legal comment directly to the post decided the next move. The game also included Knooks who stood in for Kingside bishops who went on vacation at the start of the game.
Like how the Queen can move like a Bishop or a Rook, A Knook can move like a Knight or a Rook and it has the Algebraic notation symbol of O. On the board, it looks like they have a K tattoo. Pawns can also promote to Knooks.
Posts also contained placeholder moves put there by me because the show must go on and i’ll remove my own vote, so anyone else making a move would be higher ranked than mine immediately after its published. Placeholder moves can be upvoted and downvoted like any others.

Ne4 can be immediately captured by either the pawn or the Horsey
Of1# is a main threat. With nothing else able to capture the Knook, the only valid defence would be to move the King.
Ke1 results in mate in 1 via Of1#
This leaves only Kd2 and Kf2.
Kf2 isnt a major advantage as King cannot capture either Knook or Horsey and a Rook capturing the Knook would be captured the move after by the Horsey. Kd2 doesnt look much different.
This game came about because i wanted to try and hack up a game with Knooks as a fork from Dreamchess, an open source Chess game with 2D and 3D boards and pieces. I succeeded and called the project "DreamyDesktop" there is a repository at https://github.com/PossibleEmuWrangler/AnarchyChess-DreamyDesktopPrototype .
That repository contains functional code i downloaded and verified on a Raspberry Pi 400 but i consider it in sunset mode and will get around to putting those updates in a true fork of Dreamchess at https://github.com/PossibleEmuWrangler/AnarchyChess-DreamyDesktop
If there is interest, i would consider hosting another game here, this one would be on a move a day cycle with "fixed" times of each side having roughly 12 hours to move and variance to give me flexibility to update.
Adding more rules like il vaticano and Knight boosting would be considered although the rules would be locked in before the game starts. It wouldn't kick off for atleast a week.
People would be encouraged to take a side and play on that side for the duration of the game.
In general, it was fun to play with knooks and drops. Too bad white's critical blunders (14. fxg3, 21. Ke1) were placeholder moves. Having 12 hours between moves would indeed be better, this prevents waking up to a lost position. Maybe extend the deadline to 24 hours if there are no comments yet, and not have placeholder moves at all. I'll play if you host another.
