We are pleased to announce Claude 2, our newest model, which can be accessed via API as well as a new public-facing beta website at claude.ai.
Claude 2 is a new AI model released by Anthropic that improves upon Claude 1.3 with better performance, longer responses, and larger input and output capabilities. Claude 2 scored higher on various tests and evaluations compared to Claude 1.3, indicating improved coding, math, and reasoning skills. Anthropic has worked to make Claude 2 safer and less likely to produce harmful outputs through various techniques. Claude 2 powers Anthropic's new chat experience and API that businesses like Jasper and Sourcegraph are using to enhance their own products, citing Claude 2's larger context window, improved reasoning, and up-to-date knowledge. Anthropic welcomes feedback as they work to responsibly deploy Claude 2 more broadly.
It's actually superior to ChatGPT, because of much higher context memory of about 100,000 tokens whereas GPT-4 only got at most 32,000 tokens. Plus you can upload doc and then query on it.
