I'm not sure if you can do this on the app you're using, but on the website you can click on your profile --> settings --> disable "Show NSFW Content" and hit save.
That setting isn’t working very well on Memmy at the moment. I’ve had it disabled since I got the app and it was working, but suddenly all the nsfw subs are showing up in the feed.
The first thing I ask myself when switching from subscribed to all is, “How much porn do I have the energy to block today?”. Would be nice to be able to block whole instances. I’m just here for memes and cat pictures.
And how can I get more NSFW to show? I don’t wanna go to a whole-ass porn site, just want some titties mixed in with my memes beans and screenshots and news.
Fair enough. You can go into your user settings (on the web). On the "Blocks" tab you can block specific communities (i.e. any NFSW communities you don't want to see).
I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t know if “instance” is synonymous to “post” on here. I’m a new user and I am still learning. It’s in the err…well it’s not subreddit…it’s called “ass” lol.
Since you didn’t quite get an answer, an “instance” is like a “website” kind of. Just like you’d go to Reddit and have access to all of the subreddits on their servers, an instance is a one version of Reddit. There are multiple “Reddits” like lemmy.world, lemm.ee, feddit.de, etc that all have their own “subreddits”. They all interact with each other though so you can see every community on every instance as long as they’re still linked.
What I ended up doing is creating a second account on an instance which doesn't allow NSFW (feddit.de in my case but there are many more). These instances defederate from NSFW instances so you don't see the post at all on your feed.
