In the new system, if a player violates the Xbox community standards, they’ll receive a strike.
If a player receives a total of eight strikes, their account will be banned from using Xbox services like voice chat or multiplayer for a year.
Back in 2019, Xbox updated its community standards with rules on what kind of behavior was unacceptable as a part of an overall initiative to curtail abuse and toxicity on the platform.
Last year, Xbox released its first-ever transparency report, detailing the actions it took to moderate content over a six-month period.
Then, earlier this year, Xbox introduced the ability for players to record and submit voice clips for moderation.
“I think if you’re going to have a healthy, vibrant player community, you sort of have to tackle it from all of these angles and you have to commit to regularly improving and investing in it.”
Microsoft can go fuck themselves with this shit. Maybe they should get their grubby corporate hands off of gaming so they can stop making everything they touch worse.
I don't see what's objectionable here. This isn't them saying they're going to start scanning every private chat you have to look for anything mildly controversial to take action against. This is saying that when you use their public-facing service and get reported for being an obnoxious douche to other users who are matched with you when trying to play their games, they have a standardized process so you know where you stand.
Because you argue with someone on xbox live and they report you and you now have a strike, it's been proven they will strike you over the smallest shit imaginable. Not having social features in X games is shit but okay but no multiplayer?
