If I remember correctly, he was a PhD candidate before the offspring took off. Like the music was just a hobby then everybody suddenly liked it.
Later on, sure I'll give you unlimited money, but I gotta give him credit for the pursuits of finishing the doctorate and getting a pilots license.
That's a far cry better than many musicians I've watched over the years.
