Hey folks, we're getting fairly close to Shattered Pixel Dungeon v2.4.0 being ready for beta!
Here's another thing to look forward to in that update, I'm making some big changes to Duelist weapon abilities! While I am reducing recharge speed, abilities are getting buffed across the board to compensate. This includes more damage, charge cost reductions, and every ability getting a component that scales with upgrades.
That is correct. There are some cases where you can get a lot of value from this, but not quite as much as you might think. It's a bit like a weaker version of invisibility (as enemies still aggro to you). The 6 turns is also because the shield is +3, the base duration is 3.
Ah, interesting. I often dump upgrades into Greatshield, so that'll be interesting. I think it'll be great in the depths if you get caught out of position by some scorpions and eyes. That's a lot of turns of maneuvering to a door or some cover. Same with warlocks.
I finally got to do a run with Round Shield. It's exactly as good as I thought it would be. It's so strong! I was blocking shots from two scorpions, an eye, and a jumping ripper all at once, and just moseying my way around for 16 turns, or whatever. It's so satisfying to hear the clanging!
Where can I find more details about this, is the beta already available to try out? I couldn't find it on github, nor on Google Play (I'm signed up there as a beta tester)
I feel we're almost saying the same thing.
The parent comment indicated you could evade triple beams from beholders, which I take to mean in one usage you can evade/block 3 beams from beholders. That wouldn't be applicable, as each beam would use up a block. so if 3 beams are supposed hit you, only one would be blocked While the other 2 would hit or be dodged based on your evasion.
Still better than getting hit by 3 beams, but not as great as evading 3 completely with this one ability.
That's not at all what I'm saying. The block doesn't get used up. You can take 100 beams in 6 turns and you will block them all. The blocking only stops when the turns run out or you attack or cast a spell.
It's like you didn't even read my original comment or Evan's reply confirming it. ಠ_ಠ
What you're describing is how it works today. He's changing it.
I see now, I was reading the description incorrectly as once an attack is blocked, or attacking or casting magic, the effect ends. This is a nice buff.
