I'm with Andrewism on the whole "left unity" thing. The left never was, never will be, and doesn't need to be unified. We can just collaborate (or not) with those of other political persuasions on a per-project basis.
The reason tankies push "left unity" is because they plan to be in charge of the unified left. Fuck that noise, we don't need it.
Left Unity is valuable... when it's not just an excuse for tankies and trolls to drive off everyone else so they can enjoy their circlejerk until they realize one of their own has a slightly different opinion and needs to be sent to the GULAG.

I'd agree some semblance of left unity would be valuable if tankies actually had left leanings other than saying they support lgbtq. they don't even actually support lgbtq because they constantly deny any allegations of their favorite authoritarians having any ill intentions towards the group. also they are adamant that china is doing nothing bad to Uyghurs, and that Russia is fully in the right invading Ukraine. Tankies are fucking dumb
