I swear GrandCentral/Google Voice could do that like 15 years ago.
Teams does that today
Cool tech, but I am always sad when it's the big giants adding something new and innovative.

I was not aware Google Meet even still exists. Haven't heard a peep about it in ages. Everyone uses MS Teams at work, and shitty whatsapp at home.
