In a lot of countries in the Middle East, you can be killed or imprisoned for life because you're gay.
Oman is no exception.
You should be able to quote the law then. Because the law I know is unenforceable by design as it requires four eyewitnesses testifying to prove the act happened. The only times I know of people who have been punished is that when they were caught in homosexual acts with minors, i.e. rape.

It is good to draw from various pools. A lot of time only the bad news about the region gets reported which I believe is intentional, what other way to otherize and demonize a people you want to exploit their lands? To the point, I can't post a positive or neutral news story without getting bombarded by the bad news.
