Trump ally Steve Bannon has asked the Supreme Court to delay his prison sentence while he fights his convictions for defying a subpoena from the House committee.
He was facing criminal charges for defrauding people during a scheme to build a border wall, but the orange turd pardoned him before those went anywhere.
It's for defying a subpoena, not contempt of congress.
He also verbally threatened multiple people in Congress, dared them to arrest him, and threatened the judge who ordered him to jail while on air just a few weeks ago from what I remember. He's still trying to appeal his initial conviction, but the judge said he needs to start serving for defying the subpoena now and await response while in jail like anyone else.
Two counts of money laundering, which carry a maximum sentence of five to 15 years in prison, as well as additional felony counts of conspiracy and scheme to defraud along with one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to defraud.
Trump (or any other president) can’t issue pardons for state-level crimes, only federal crimes. So, if you’re friends with any presidents, make sure to only do crimes in DC (which isn’t a state for anyone not familiar with America’s absurd system).
