- They patented that like 15 years ago. If they were going to do it they would do it.
  
  Fifteen years ago means the patent will expire soon, so the idea will be public domain for others to implement.
  
  The microtransaction concept was made decades before Bethesda's horse armor which had gamers everywhere in a rage. Now look at us, I'm on Lemmy because reddit has Microtransactions.
