Links to Twitter/X are now permanently banned from this community
Our sister community, !playstation@lemmy.world has announced that they are banning all links to Twitter / X, including the alternate front-ends like Nitter, Xitter, etc, and after discussing with @CosmicSploogeDrizzle@lemmy.world and @picandocodigo@lemmy.world, we have decided to follow them.
So, from now on: All links to Twitter, X, or any alternative version such as Nitter, Xitter, etc. are no longer allowed. The only exception will be screenshots in the event that the news cannot be sourced elsewhere.
Please report posts containing these links so that mods can remove them.
As for the reason, I am going to steal words of @CosmicSploogeDrizzle@lemmy.world :
The long-term reason is that the platform as a whole is becoming more and more (arguably already is) a safe haven for fascism, racism, xenophobia, anti-lgb
