  • Mandela Effect test: Without looking it up, what was the name of the guy who narrated The Twilight Zone?
  • I’m gonna say Rod Serling? Not sure if the spelling is correct.

  • Is there a legal way to download old installation discs for free?
  • By the way, I think Mac OS Leopard is the most up to date OS that’ll install and run on the old Power PC Macs.

  • Is there a legal way to download old installation discs for free?
  • You may be able to find a downloadable disc image from here that may work for you.

  • A Boulogne Window, c. 1925 - Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson (1889 - 1946)
  • Agreed, I can’t see the attraction of this painting.

On looking it up it sold for over £91,000 at Christie’s and I can’t see why.

It’s a view from a window in Boulogne and the French tricolour on the right hand side is the wrong way round, with the red portion on flagpole side instead of the blue?

Just such a trivial mistake to make and sums up the painting for me as sloppy and badly executed.

  • Matthew Perry dead
  • Just reading elsewhere that it’s suspected to be drowning following a heart attack. That’s tragic, if so as if his assistant was still there he might have had a chance.

  • Matthew Perry dead
  • Jesus Christ!

Hearing of this makes you feel shocked due to his young age, but yet still not completely surprised due to his well documented issues.

I wonder if it turns out accidental, or as I suspect, intentional, especially since he sent his assistant away for a few hours and was alone at the time.

  • Is there a way to block communities?
  • Community block is now back in TestFlight version 1.0(55)!

It’s not directly in the 3 dots at the top right of the post in the main feed but if you click on the community you’ll have the block option within there.

  • Is there a way to block communities?
  • Yeah, I reckon you’re correct and the option will be back eventually. I know you can block from the website but it was so convenient having it as an option right on the post.

  • Is there a way to block communities?
  • Nope, unfortunately that option is now gone from the TestFlight version.

I’m hoping they bring it back because it was incredibly useful and made the use of Lemmy much more manageable and enjoyable.

  • Trump praises Hungary’s ‘Viktor Orbán’ as great ‘leader of Turkey’
  • You’re right, at least Homer shows empathy for other people.

  • Trump praises Hungary’s ‘Viktor Orbán’ as great ‘leader of Turkey’
  • I can just picture the situation before he was due to speak. His advisors saying “Mr Trump, remember, he’s the president of Hungary. The country is Hungary”

Trump then thinks to himself, “Riiight, Hungary, it’s Hungary, Hungary. Mmm, I’m hungry, really hungry. You know what I could go right now? A Turkey sandwich. Mmm, Turkey….”

Goes on stage, “Viktor Orbán, what a great leader of Turkey”

It’s such a stupid premise it has to be true. The man is basically Homer Simpson at this point.

  • [L'Equipe] Laurent Blanc sacked by Olympique Lyonnais
  • BBC Sport gives a little more background.

Lyon manager Laurent Blanc has been sacked with the team bottom of Ligue 1. A 4-1 home defeat by Blanc's former club Paris St-Germain proved to be his final match in charge of the club, who said Blanc left by "mutual agreement". Lyon have only one point from four games this season and Ligue 1's worst goal difference. Technical director Jean-Francois Vulliez, who oversees Lyon's renowned academy, will manage the first team on an interim basis. Blanc, 57, was appointed Lyon manager in October and the club ended last season in seventh, outside Ligue 1's European places. It was his first managerial role in France since leaving PSG after the 2015-16 season, although Blanc had managed Al Rayyan in Qatar in the interim. Results were disappointing and Blanc's average of 1.53 points per game is the worst of any permanent Lyon manager of the past 25 years aside from Sylvinho, who lasted just nine league matches. Blanc previously won three Ligue 1 titles managing PSG and another in charge of Bordeaux. Former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter, 48, was reported to have turned down the Lyon job last week. Gennaro Gattuso, 45, is another manager strongly linked to the vacancy, having left his previous job in charge of Valencia in January. During Blanc's tenure, American businessman John Textor - who also owns shares in Crystal Palace - completed a takeover of the club.

Red lantern of Ligue 1, Olympique Lyonnais separated from its coach Laurent Blanc on Friday night. Jean-François VullIiez is the new number 1 and will be assisted by Sonny Anderson and Jérémie Bréchet.

Laurent Blanc, who was under contract until June 2024, is no longer OL's coach. Tuesday's training will be provided by Jean-François Vulliez, who was part of his staff, and who will have as assistants Sonny Anderson (president's advisor) and Jérémie Bréchet, current U19 coach.

Blanc, who learned the news on Friday, was removed from office and will therefore no longer sit on the Lyon bench. Vulliez will act as an interim while John Textor continues to look for a number 1. Gennaro Gattuso, advised by influential agent Jorge Mendes, is one of the candidates. The Italian technician (45 years old) has been free since his departure from Valencia at the end of January.
