If they replace Biden... 1 Who replaces him? 2 What happens from now until election day? 3 What happens on election day?
  • Kamala is the only reasonable choice to replace him.

If she is smart, she runs a campaign that frames herself the cop and Trump as a criminal. Frame it as cleaning up Washington, "no nonsense black mom" schtick. She could promise to finally legalize pot and codify Roe, Play up the deficit and Trump's tax cuts impact on it. Immediately turn the tables on Trump and his age. Point out that Trump is older than Biden was at the beginning of his first term.

She would have an uphill battle, America is still very racist and very sexist. As I recall she is poling equal or worse than Biden is right now, but with enough money she could overcome some of that.

No matter what this election is going to be close, I genuinely believe that Kamala has a better chance, but that's predicated on getting started as soon as possible. Everyday Biden stays in the race kamala's chances shrink.

  • News this morning wants Biden to bow out of the race.
  • Of course CNN took advantage of the easy ratings. Of course they platformed the fascist in order to stay relevant.

When I leave a burrito on the coffee table I don't get mad at my dog for trying to take it. I blame myself for leaving it within easy reach.

This entire debate was a Biden self-own before he opened his mouth. If he had the rhetorical skill of someone like Obama he might have been able to pull his chestnuts out of the fire. But, he doesn't, and he didn't.

This feels like 2016 all over again, we're going to end up with Trump because the Democrats are being led by someone whose own hubris will destroy them.

  • Tumblr: If you refuse to support the person carrying out a genocide of millions of people, "you have an incredible amount of privilege" and actually DON'T care about Palestine. Here's a helpful chart!
  • You seem to be under the impression that most Americans vote matters.

With the Electoral College and how partisan state governments have gerrymandered, I can honestly say my vote, here in Texas, literally makes no difference. Biden has literally zero realistic chance of winning this state, my vote does not make any difference. So why make an empty gesture in support of a war criminal, when I can make an empty gesture by writing in a 3rd party like the PSL?

  • You know what?

Late October, with a ceasefire in place, I can understand the impulse to swallow your pride and vote Biden out of fear. It's not an impulse I'll share, but it's one I can understand.

But we are over 4 months away from the election. Pledging your support to an incumbent president while he is in the middle of supporting a genocide, with no reservations or halfhearted attempts to demand concessions is so servile it makes me sick.

Look at my "leftists" bro. We are never getting socialism bro.

Top of the NYT homepage: "Israel could face a second full-blown war, this one against Hezbollah, a much stronger foe in Lebanon."
  • Israel is desperate to record a win.

They have not been able to demonstrate victory in Gaza despite taking over practically the entire territory. They have not been able to demonstrate a win against Hezbollah despite lobbing missiles back and forth for months. They have not been able to record a win against Iran despite blowing up an oil pipeline and (mabie) assassinating a president.

Even assuming the political leadership in Israel wanted to end this conflict (they don't) they can't really de-escalate until they've "won" something.

If Netanyahu were truly a statesman and a Patriot, he could in this conflict and shoulder the burden of defeat. Give Israel away to deescalate the situation and save face. Unfortunately for everyone involved Netanyahu may be a nationalist but he's not a patriot.

  • I think that in a war between Israel and Hezbollah two things are certain.

    Hezbollah would eventually win.

The people of Lebanon would suffer greatly.

The ideal solution to all this is for Israel to stop its genocide. If it comes to war between Hezbollah and Israel I have no doubt about who the final victor would be, but just like the last war, while the IDF will lose, they will extract a horrific price.

  • Russia is why Republicans push rhetoric from the 30s
  • damn, i wonder how america could throw a wrench in the plans of alleged russian disinformation campaigns that focus on biden’s active support and denial of genocide?

perhaps biden could stop sending weapons and stop denying the genocide?

I hate to say it, but "bloodfart" makes a very good point

  • Nafo fellas cannot keep losing.....
  • Wasn't there a quote from an Ansarallah leader who said he feels bad every time he sees one of these drones because he knows that it was millions of dollars that could have gone to poor people in America, instead of a useless machine of death?
