The leader of Hezbollah was confirmed dead in the attack, so clearly they were using human shields... They have been attacking Israel from a foreign country, and are not part of that countries military, which makes them terrorists.
You don't like the truth, but lying about it doesnt change the facts of the matter.
It's literally terrorist 101 to use human shields. This tactic has been used by every insurgency in the last hundred years.
It's why it was added as a war crime.
As for the second one to commit a war crime. If you follow the rules, but your enemy doesn't, you will lose. This is the international equivalent of the bunch buggy no punch back bullshit that let's people hit you with no retaliation.
To protect the US from rockets from... Canada?
Residential buildings that Hezbollah intentionally set up a headquarters in the basement of.
Thats already a war crime by Hezbollah.
Fucking Conservatives.
Stop worrying about what other people have between their legs, especially children.
It's wierd.
Now that's ironic, given the subject.
Hate is the only thing Conservatives all agree on.
You realize that the US, Russia, and China have been fighting this way and killing millions of civilians for like 60+ years now right?
Ukraine for example is the US vs Russia/China.
Afghanistan was the US vs Russia a few times.
The whole point of fighting somewhere else is that fewer of your own civilians die.
Because Nukes are a thing, that's why all big countries fight proxy wars now. Ukraine, Israel, Afghanistan... All proxies.
Oh right, all the sanctions and prosecutions against Iran are working so well.
The rest of the world has picked sides, and there are major players on both sides, so nothing can happen.
If it's a war crime to target non-combatants, then Hezbollah is already committing the war crimes with their rocket attacks on Israel. So is using human shields.
If your enemy isn't following the "rules" why should you be required to do so?
The US was literally founded by taking the land of another group of people who were there first.
So was pretty much every other modern country.
I think Iran should stop funding terrorists.
If you want to get into who has who's blood on their hands, you've got a very large history book to read. I don't think there is a single non-island country (and even some of those have it) that doesn't have a history steeped in humans killing other humans over the land.
Yes, but "aggressively removed from their homeland in 1948" also means "was voted on and approved by the UN as a direct result of what happened to the Jewish people in the world wars, and the collapse of the Ottoman empire for supporting the axis in WW1."
Their country tried to win a war, and failed. Why shouldn't there be consequences for that, like getting broken up and given in pieces to various more friendly groups.
Germany lost territory after the world wars too, but you don't see them shooting rockets at their neighbors to get it back.
My point about refugees is that Iran is taking literally 0 of them, despite being a major funding and arms source for Hamas and Hezbollah. I was pointing out that Iran doesn't give a shit about the Palestinian people, other than to use them as fodder to hurt Israel.
If two groups claim a territory at the same time, and both have lived there on and off for a few thousand years depending on the activity of dozens of wars. Who exactly has the right to it?
Which was retaliation for Iran funding and arming terrorists. Context does matter.
"Lebanese militant group"
Should be read as "Iran armed and equipped militant group that just happens to be in Lebanon"
That's the point, no?
Iran already directly attacked Israel on April 13th this year. They sent over a hundred drones and missiles.
The blame needs to lie with the aggressors, which in this case is Iran. People see Palestinians dying and assume that Israel is just beating them up because they're bullies, when it's Iran that's doing the bullying via terrorist groups and Israel is just fighting back.
Diplomacy won't solve the issue, because Iran doesn't want a diplomatic solution and is happy to keep handing out guns and rockets to disillusioned young men just to weaken Israel for as long as they want.
The housing crisis is an issue of democracy, not the federal government. Fixing it would get them voted out in a heartbeat, because the only fix is to drop existing house prices by around 80-90% and 65% of the population lives in a house they or their family own. Homeowners are also far more likely to vote.
The health care system strain is an issue of resources, there's an unlimited possibility to spend money here to do more. The government has to balance available money with an acceptable level of care. Again if you asked voters for an extra $1000 each a year to boost healthcare, you'd likely get voted out.
Indigenous rights, same problem. You can't give the land back entirely, the citizens wouldn't allow it. What will citizens allow, and indigenous people accept that will resolve the situation? Probably nothing. So they balance what they can, and neither party is exactly happy.
Public transportation is a provincial, or even a municipal issue, not a federal one. It's also not a popular issue with voters, because again the demographics of voters is heavily tilted towards car owners.
We've tried things for the opioid epidemic, other places have tried things for the opioid epidemic, nobody in the world has found a solution yet. Even countries with harsh drug laws like Japan are seeing massive drug use deaths, almost 100k people a year right now. So how is it OUR government that's failing?
The system of government we have follows what people want, and people don't always want what they say when there's a cost associated with it. It's all well and good to say "I want this fixed" but if you put the real price tag on it, people are rarely willing to pay that cost. It costs more than the annual family income to jail someone for a year for example. Lots of people are tough on crime, until they realize it takes all the taxes for their entire block to pay for one inmate.
Conservative leader John Rustad is unveiling his party’s plan to address a key issue for the majority of voters in this election: affordability.
The title is a bit misleading and makes it sound like it's a one time payment. It's very different, he's promising to exempt up to $3000 a month towards your housing costs from income taxes. Starting at $1500 a month in 2026 and going up $500 a year for 3 more years. At the max, it would be a $36,000 a year tax deduction which is absolutely massive, that's half of the average family income.
Great idea? It's complicated, but probably not a good idea.
When you make something "cheaper" for everyone like this in a supply constrained market, all that does is drive up the prices of rents and housing sale prices since people can now use that freed up money to pay more for those.
Also, his plan to pay for this multi-billion dollar plan is:
“Obviously, we need to take a look at this reckless spending that David Eby has put in place in terms of how to sort of rein in some of that spending,” said Rustad.
So that's not really "fiscally conservative" at all.
The NDP has shared a video of B.C. Conservative Leader John Rustad saying he regrets getting the "so-called vaccine" against COVID-19.
This asshole is literally a conspiracy theorist. He says it was about controlling the population, not stopping the spread of the virus.
Which countries (and even provinces) had the fewest covid deaths per capita? Oh.. the ones with the highest vaccination rates.
Everyone with a brain knows vaccines reduce illness, that's why we have the fucking things.

Personally, it seems stupid not to have a liaison in high schools. This is where teens establish "bad" patterns, and every single one they manage to save early is one less problem for decades in the future.
Extremely unfortunate situation.

Intent to injure?
Based on that call, any sort of pushing or shoving should be called.
The leader of the federal Conservative Party of Canada has wrapped up a two-day tour of Vancouver Island, trying to swing votes in an NDP stronghold well ahead of any mandated election in October 2025.
Unfortunately, it looks like he's going to elected in a couple years. I just hope people remember after a term of the Conservatives cutting important environmental policies like the carbon tax, that they will have failed to make like more affordable AND fucked up the environment more.
The conservative parties that won in the UK didn't manage to make things more affordable, the conservative party that won in Australia didn't manage it either, no party anywhere has managed it.
This crisis isn't caused by local government zoning policies, approval red tape, or anything else that the parties are talking about. It's caused by landowners (including people who own only one property) using a home as an investment.
You cannot have homes appreciate in value faster than inflation (investments) and also have affordable housing. It's impossible. That's literally just a pyramid scheme.
Until the government starts implementing policies that start reducing existing home prices, this will not be fixed. Building more units doesn't do this unless you build impossibly (literally impossible) large numbers.
So stop voting with your emotions and vote with your brain.

Land in the development is still being set aside for a potential ferry terminal, a commitment that will last another three years or so, the developer says.
Because reasons?
High land prices and rising building costs due to inflation and other factors have combined to drive construction of apartments rather than single-family homes
