I want to want new keyboards but I can't move on from this one

Unless something very different comes along I don't think I'll be moving on from this keyboard.

Ryeworks M0110 hotswap keyboard with solenoid, PCB and FR4 plate both with flex cuts, Kailh box pro deep sea whale tactile(what a mouth full), staebies stabilizers and cherry profile double shot pbt keycaps.

The amount of flex, the tactiles with the solenoid, the layout, everything is exactly as I would want. I keep looking and browsing different keyboards, switches, stabilizers and keycaps but I'm just not seeing anything I feel like buying and trying.

I was using one with high profile, dark colored abs keycaps but just wasn't satisfied, tried a light color one with higher contrast caps and it was a huge improvement. I then went to a split left shift and having a function key on that side made it perfect for me.

I guess I solved my desire, which should be a good thing right?

What rule was created because of you or someone you know?
  • Absolutely no hot tubs in the dumpster.

  • When you cut your own hair with clippers which side do you use the left/right ear taper guards on?
  • A good couple passes each way and I like to taper from the ear to my forehead and over my neck too.

I started doing it with the pandemic and now I can't bring myself to pay a barber again.

  • Standard MX and hair?

My circle of friends that use mechanical keyboards isn't that large, though I don't seem to know anyone else with as many issues as I've had with standard style MX.

My introduction to mechanical was some razer board with blues I got from a returns store, don't remember how many times I opened faulty switches to remove one of my hairs from between the contacts. My next board I kept for years and years was a converted wy50 with black switches, same deal. Partial to a 9.75u space bar I used the wy50 caps to handwire my own keyboard and decided to use some tecsee switches so if I mess them up I wouldn't feel like I wasted much and they were the worst yet for hoovering up hair.

No one else that I know seems to ever have had a problem with it and it only got worse after getting a cat.

Early 2022 I tried kailh box switches and haven't had an issue since.

    RyeWorks M0110 black
  • Where else am I supposed to wipe food dust off my fingers?

  • RyeWorks M0110 black
  • Nope, this kit is just mx style and I haven't seen an alps kit, though, to be fair I couldn't find anything on it being available in black either except for one seller just happened to have it so.. going with a weak maybe into no.

I don't know much about 60%s to say if the board uses standard mounting points or not, if it could support an alps pcb.

  • My new favorite keycaps, Cookies n Creme by PBTfans
  • Interesting, I don't like how much I like them..

I think I can control myself for now, I just won't check if there are tall caps in that style. 🫠

  • AliExpress, took 16 days to eastern US.

  • RyeWorks M0110 black

Got my stuff in the mail today, RyeWorks M0110 black with knock off apes keycaps and kailh box deep sea pro linears.

Now begins the process of adjusting from a 75%, super happy with how it turned out and going from a block of aluminum to a plastic case is a lovely change of pace.

    Daily driver post

Been my daily since April of 22, GMMK Pro with kbdfans PGA WOB and Kailh deep sea silent linear switches. Used some 3m mount tape to stick some am4 cooler brackets on the back since they were what I had that would set the board at 15° where I like it.

Got what will hopefully be my new daily in the mail, if I can adjust to hhkb. Some days I still miss having a numpad lol.

    My fluffball

Kouhai came from a litter we found on our street, she was the runt then and she's still only about 2/3 the size of the others.

Politely vocal, pokes at me when I sleep in and loves to flop all over me as I put my shoes on in the mornings.
