What happened to the main Piracy community
  • LMAO you think an Instance enfocing their rules is a power trip? You sound like the dumbasses I banned from r/PS2 and r/3dshacks who would ask how to pirate games against our rules and then whine and complain that we were power tripping because we banned them using our own authority as mods in our own subreddit.

  • What happened to the main Piracy community
  • Let's see what happens when we get everyone to defederate your ass for supporting illegal content, or are you going to evade their defederation attempts with a new domain? Are you going to violate their right to censor and ban you on their server with their own rules.

  • I think you missed the whole point of this, or you're misrepresenting on purpose. It's literally an instance that violates their rules, you're all conviently ignoring that fact because you don't want to see them defederated.

  • They deleted it, but there are many more like it on that instance that they didn't delete, I say defederate the whole thing because they're probably going to just make more like it. Deleting them is just going to be a cat and mouse game and more and more will slip though the cracks.

Proof they deleted it (it's also in the Site Modlog):

  • Well I am an American and I support American values, so as far as I'm concerned it's wrong and illegal.

Also isn't lemmy.world in America? Pretty sure it is since they did remove two of their communites for this very reason:

  • If I hosted my own I certainly would, I would never federate with Instances which host of facilitate illegal content.

However this isn't about my instance or your instance, it's about an Instance who's primary goal violates the rules and guidelines of the lemmy.world server, by virtue of being an Instance dedicated to Piracy. It's not about disliking them, it's about what is right, and illegal activity isn't right or acceptable. Also it's literally in their rules, if lemmy.world didn't care or have rule 1 I wouldn't even bother here.

    1. No illegal content, including sharing copyrighted material without the explicit permission of the owner(s).

It's literally right there, lemmy.dbzer0.com violates that by being a hub for piracy.

  • You're arguing semantics here because you know that I'm right, a torrent doesn't literally contain a movie file, but it is used to fetch the copyrighted movie file. It makes you look bad when you make these stupid flaky arguments just because you want to keep access to your filthy pirate site. You're not even on lemmy.world how does this concern you at all?

(PS I already messaged Lemm.ee admins about this issue, they're looking into it.)

  • They are illegal when they contain copyrighted material like games or movies, which is what those contain, they literally say it.

Also, you’re on the internet, which isn’t beholden solely to US copyright laws

It's illegal in the US and either way it's against lemmy.world's server rules, specifically rule 1

No illegal content, including sharing copyrighted material without the explicit permission of the owner(s).

    I think you're defending it because you're a pirate.

  • They're literally facilitating the sharing of illegal torrents and also links to copyrighted rom files. That's not discussion that's directly enabling piracy which is against Lemmy.world's rules

    1. No illegal content, including sharing copyrighted material without the explicit permission of the owner(s).
  • Defederate From lemmy.dbzer0.com

They are a lemmy instance dedicated to the facilitation of piracy, and copyright infringement in general which is illegal. It is by nature in violation of the rules of your instance which prohibit illegal content, therefore it is imperative that you defederate it in accordance with your policies.
