  • I wouldn't even describe my hair as curly, but just as unwieldy. Since I've just embraced it, I get so many compliments on it. I do make the effort to get sulfate free shampoo, and brush it before washing, but that's literally it. Trying to get them to clump into proper curls worked, but really really wasn't worth the effort for me.

    Edit:

How it looks when I just brush, wash (sulfite free shampoo, nothing else), let dry. Probably not everyone's favourite but I love it like this and others have said they do too.

  • You're the first person other than me I've heard has this problem. I have it with garlic, too. Either is fine when fully cooked, though. I don't even have a sensitive stomach otherwise, I can eat chilis all day every day. Hbu?

  • By now, I feel weird going for those that feel barely out if their teens. I like Leah and Elliot. I love creative types and those who work hard to pursue their passions, even in the face of adversity. I also like that they still pursue their passions when they live with me. Others have felt kind of empty after moving to my farm. One time I chose Krobus over marriage, no regrets there either.

  • It absolutely isn't a global thing. Many Europeans get confused when they first encounter it from a brit or american for the first time. My indian friend lived in the US for a year and never got used to it, would still occasionally accidentally answer for real.

Then there's places where there's a set, expected answer.

    Like Ireland:

    Alright?

    Alright.

    France:

    Ça va?

    Ça va (bien).

    That's just my experience!

  • Edit: I was wrong, see below! Shouldn't have assumed simulating active galactic nuclei would make me knowledgeable about asteroids.

Astrophysicist, not a geologist here. Maybe if you sent a pic I might recognize it. But it's kind of unlikely, since afaik crystals from under great pressures, which meteorites don't tend to undergo like that.

  • Thanks for th write up! It was very helpful, I was feeling super off about it because, like I said, im autistic, and I do also have some complex trauma. It was especially upsetting because my autism is literally what I am. It's important to my identity in a similar way and as much as my gender identity, for example. And trauma is something purely negative that I wish I wouldn't have gone through.

What does kind of make sense though is how trauma can exacerbate symptoms, such as being easily overwhelmed with seemingly innocuous situations.

  • Not disagreeing, just see this association with expensive therapy and the USA a lot. Mental health care, as well as dental, is out of pocket or has a large co pay in a lot of countries that otherwise have a good healthcare system.
