  • And making train tracks across line distances is also expensive. Why would the government spend money there instead of something like the failing school system or defending the nation or trying to help with the huge issue of homelessness.

  • Just a thought
  • Which the government will pay for when needed, and they already have debt from that happening anyway. Why can't they use the unused money for something else? Couldn't they do that instead of needing constant fundraising and scammy practices regarding charging students too much? $35 million each year is not a small amount that can just go unused.

  • Just a thought
  • The schools can do this very easily. The middle school and high school I went to have public finances. The government gives them about $55 million each year (they previously complained that they weren't getting enough for some reason despite the amount they had being nowhere close to how low what they spent is) and spend about $20 million each year.

  • See, this is why I don't like these posts. You have to keep in mind that the train won't be at that capacity because it is more limited in where it can go and when. Sure, if you are like going across a country it's alright, and I don't disagree, I've actually used trains for that. But as soon as it becomes the only source of transportation, we have issues.

  • Trains are barely more space efficient and what would we do with current roads for cars anywhere? If we just leave them there, nothing would be gained. And cars are just easier to travel by and make more sense in general.

  • Please go back to the fuck cars subLemmy or whatever the fuck it's called. I don't want to also block 196 for being annoying as shit about weird topics that don't make sense and you can't back up.

  • Taylor is getting all the attention
  • Not true at all. Take a look at Elon musk for example. Just because he has money doesn't stop him from being sued or keeps the government out of his ass. He gets all this negativity from the media and other things and you act like he doesn't exist because he has lots of money. And I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but you are still insulting a real person, no matter how much money he has. The human brain finds ways to make small things seem big. We all need problems to thrive or else life would be lifeless and boring. If you've ever watched the show The Good Place, you might remember the scene where everybody is so happy for so many years that they basically became boring slugs that don't do anything and have no emotion. To say that the rich are exempt from this is bs. They are humans like everyone else and all humans have these problems.

  • Taylor is getting all the attention
  • Are you saying rich people don't have problems? Because that's far from true. Although they are less severe problems, they are one you probably can't comprehend about some weird business shit and other stuff nobody knows about.

  • Where to find saved posts and comments
