I'm really curious about watching the rest of the series, because I'm sure there's going to be other stuff there that shows up in other films. The first thing I recognize that shows up in Spaceballs is going to blow my tiny mind.
Over the weekend I watched the first episode of the Mel Brooks version of a Robin Hood TV series. I was surprised with how much of that first episode, alone, made it into the movie "Robin Hood: Men in Tights." There was a lot of jokes and bits that didn't really land to my modern sensibilities, but to my mid-40's self, there was a lot I still recognized in the satire and parody.
Any other early efforts in TV that are a worthwhile hunt based on how the subsequent treatments came out?
Starting off my week with a crown on a molar that decided that chewing wasn’t really an activity it wanted to participate in. Heartened by how my team performed on last Friday when I took a day off, and there were some escalations/failures.
Checking in to see if there’s going to be any activity here…
This is a great point that it's more of a era or genera than a designator to be applied as the work ages. You have Rockabilly, Classic Rock, Grunge Rock, etc.
One of the things that makes music slightly different than durable goods, although I would have a hard time calling anything from the 90's "vintage," but it's getting close to that age.
Growing up, the family joke was that it's not a project until there's blood!
I used to do this with Gentoo, and it was always a blast! Glad that you’re having fun “rolling your own!”

Hi folks!
I’m thinking about getting a Mac Mini M2 Pro, but I want to find out if people have had poor experiences running things like video calls from Teams in a guest OS. A couple of people I’ve talked to use the MacOS client for Teams, but I want to keep the accounts on the Windows install isolated from the host.
Anyone have perspective on the video and audio quality?
I kind of feel like a weirdo for not chatting a lot, I guess?
This weekend, I have some plans to finish up my miter saw stand, and do some other "puttering" around my shop. Putting together a list of actions, and their order, to help me keep myself accountable (:
- Align the miter saw at 45 degrees (it's a hair off)
- Align the tablesaw blade arbor to the miter slots
- Cut the parts for six total drawers
- Build drawers, and install
