Recap Monday - Week 38 - What did you play last week?
  • just recieved two games that I bought in 2022 and 2020: Spirit Island expansions and promos and Glen More II with expansion. I spent my saturday morning drinking coffee and organinzing all boxes, but it is just too damn hot (40+C all week and until tuesday), so I read and played video games with my son, locked with our AC.

  • Grisham, Martin join authors suing OpenAI: “There is nothing fair about this”
  • yeah... the quaility of comment isn't very high on this topic. Sure, George boy, summer prince, should go write right now and give the world the story he promised, but this goes far, far beyond that. Take your heads out of your butt, people.

  • Monday Recap Week 34 - what did you play last week?

    I had a blast last week! Had a friend from my group visiting for the whole week, so playerd a bunch. We usually play via BGA or TTS, since we live in different cities. All 2p and in variable number of plays, but this is what hit the table:

    Radlands - great card game. Quick, mean, beautiful as hell. Punks are people too;

    Gaia Project - my friend's first play and my top 1 of all time, so I won by a lot, but we had a great time. GP refuses to leave my brain for some days after any playtrhough. love it a lot and I'm eager to play Age of Innovation;

    Brass Birmingham - always great as well. tense, a must have euro, IMO;

    Concordia w/ salsa and on the creta map - love it as well! another must have euro in any good colletion;

    Terraforming Mars - again, my friend's first play and on my top 5, but I won by ONE meager point (and I have 80+ logged plays on tfm);

    Imperial Settlers: Empires of the north - Empires of the north is a very underrated game. the art is superb, good production, plenty of clans that plays in asymmetrical paths and the tableau building is a great puzzle;

    Sprawlopolis - our filler of choice;

    Spirit Island - friend's first play, my top 3 of all time and I set up Prussia level II. He played as an agressive spirit (lightining) and I got a defensive one (nature, I'm brazilian so not sure the original name) and it was... very hard. He played poorly and I had some hard turns to defense ravage and stop growth. We won with 2 corruptions on the corrupt island side.

    On Boardgame Arena: Pax Pamir 2nd, Ark Nova, Agricola (My top 2, if anyone wants to know), Feast for Odin, Numbers, Marco Polo II, Gaia Project, Kingdom Builder, Innovation, Moonriver and Castles of Burgundy.

    Phew. I don't want to talk about how much of actually work I did this last week.

  • Because thats what gets his followers. 700+k deaths of covid and the motherfucker don't bother to answer Pfizer? Cool, vaccines are fake anyway. Try to create doubt about our election process? Neat, the most secure voting machine is hard to trust. Try a coup? Nice, communism ghost and all. Have his fingerprints all over some murders, old and new? Hi didn't know he was living wall to wall to murders. Hate speech? He speaks as a jest.

    But theft? Yeah... How can a justice paladin be so enloved with what shines?

    Can play dumb when its a low crime. Rot in some cell, fucker.

  • What are you Reading (September 2023)
  • I've been cleasing my palate after 3 clarkes and 6 the expanse (plus shorts). Just finished Um Defeito de Cor, by Ana M. Golçalves, a semi-mult generation saga about a slave in Brazil. Very, very good, but I don't know if it has any translation. This has 1k pages, so I'm reading Piranesi, by Susanna Clarke, just to read something thin. It's... good. Strange.

    I have Flash Foward, Expanse #7-9, Culture #1 and Red Mars on the queue =)

  • What are you playing this weekend?

    I'll recieve some used games I bought: Ora et Labora, Stronghold 2nd, Hanamikoji and Macao.

    I'm eager to play Hanamikoji with my with and will be playing Clash of Culture in a 3p table. I may try Ora et Labora or Macao solo, but planning to play some Baseball Highlights 2045 against the automa.

    Have some nice plays, friends!

  • Since my firstborn, 7 yo now, I'm all in board games. Long past are the days of 100+ hours rpgs and grand strategy games.

    Having a blast with boards! Love 'em even more than playing on mu PC, including a lot of solo gaming.
