The Supreme Court rules that state officials can engage in a little corruption, as a treat
  • This is clearly a dark road to go down and a terrible idea for the country. I personally couldn't be anymore against this.

That said should there not be stricter rules on titles on a news subreddit? A lot of the titles I've seen recently are clearly prejudiced or undescriptive.

I think it's important we maintain a high level of accuracy on news subreddits to limit the spread of misinformation.

  • UK's flagship nuclear plant could cost up to $59 billion, developer says
  • The UK doesn't have great solar energy potential because of the high latitude and general lack of sun. Wind is much more practical in this country however like solar it provides it's a non-stable energy source. To have a stable energy grid you ideally want a mix of stable and non-stable sources or non-stable sources and large battery storage facilities.

Lenovo Tab P12 Review: Lenovo’s latest tablet packs a massive screen on a budget
  • It's nice to see more midrange android tablets being released. Speaking for myself I've been looking for a 1080p mid range android tablet and the options were very limited for many years. Most options had either 720p screens or CPU's so slow that the tablets were frustrating to use.

  • OSM on android

Hi everyone im new to the OSM community but eager to contribute. Im curious how many of you use OSM on android phones and how you interact with it. I'm interested both in terms of contributing but also using it for its map functionality e.g. navigation. Based in my early research so far the most popular apps seem to be:

    • OsmAnd
    • Vespucci
    • Maps.me
    • StreetComplete
    • Organic maps
    • Magic Earth

Im really looking for your opinions on what apps are worth using and for what purpose. Do you just use one app or multiple apps for different purposes. Which app would you recommend to your tech savvy friend and which to your mum? There's probably a bunch more i haven't mentioned so please also highlight them and any strengths or weaknesses they have. Thanks 😊

I found this rare gem in my PC
  • Yep turns out you're right, the Connect app seems to work with all the http links whereas the ! links don't work. On the Jerboa app it's the opposite so the ! links work but the http links don't.

Is there a way to collect a list of communities across all instances?

Hi there, I'm interested in collating a list of communities both to help me find them but also in the long term to create a list accessible to everyone in a simple way. Ideally it would be a list of all instances but just active instances would also be fine. I appreciate that https://browse.feddit.de/ already exists but I'd rather independently collate it both to avoid plagiarism and to ensure there are multiple independent sources of information. If you offer me any advice (even if it seems obvious to you) please reply. I'm fairly new to Lemmy so still figuring out how to navigate it all.

Advice for intel 6th and 7th gen processor choice

Hi everyone I'm new to all this so bear with me if I make mistakes. I'm currently running an Unraid server primarily running radarrr/sonarr/Plex etc usually the most it ever has to handle is 4 Plex streams and maybe some 'downloads' at the same time. Also will occasionally be used for transcoding using handbrake.

Currently I'm running an Intel i3-6100 which is a 2 core 4 thread cpu with a TDP of 51W. I live in the UK where electricity is exorbitant so I'm looking to upgrade to something more powerful while ideally not breaking the bank on electricity. Above I've listed the 4 main CPUs I've been considering and some of the relevant stats. Any advice/resources you can point me to are really needed. Thanks
