  • The website I saw said it didn't support creating posts. Maybe It was wrong?

  • Yep. I couldn't use my debit card so I had to give them a photo of my ID.

  • Sync for Lemmy is live on Google Play Store
  • I have a Samsung Galaxy s23 Ultra

    It's 6 months old.

The issue was that Google wanted a photo of my ID for age verification.

  • I switched to a different one, and now it has the install button. Not sure why it won't let me install from my main one.

  • Hmm. Then I am not sure. @A10@kerala.party seems to also be facing the same problems as me. I don't think its a locality issue as I am in the US, unless for whatever reason that is the issue.

  • I have always preferred Infinity when I was using Reddit. But right now Infinity for Lemmy seems to be not in a usable state. I have been using Thunder For Lemmy as of recently, not sure if I will switch from it to Infinity for Lemmy once its in a more usable state.

Edit: I can't even use Sync for Lemmy as on the Play Store it says its unavailable on my device. I have a Samsung Galaxy s23 Ultra. One would think that it would be available considering its pretty much this years flagship of the largest Android brand.

Edit 2: It seems to not be because of the device itself @IncogCyberspaceUser@lemmy.world seems to have been able to download it on their s23 Ultra.

Edit 3: It was because of Age Verification. I can now download it fine.

  • Are there benefits to hosting your own personal lemmy?
  • But I solve that by using a fediverse indexer every week or so to search for popular or interesting communities.

Is there a way to automatically federate with other instances? Because I started my own Lemmy instance, and its annoying having to manually go to every community in order to federate with it. (The instance is for my own personal use, so I won't be opening registrations)

  • Done with Twitter and Reddit
  • Yep. Federated Twitter is one of the best ways to describe it.

  • Done with Twitter and Reddit
  • I left Twitter like half a year before the whole Elon Musk stuff, and I stopped using Reddit on the day the blackout protests started. I haven't deleted the accounts though.

    I use Arch Linux BTW.
