When i tried it 6 months ago I didn’t like how UI apps took more time to start. Then I realized it is all flatpak or similar. Package management was slow. Installation process took very long time. I assume it tried to auto detect my hardware.
And went back to Arch.
SUSE Feature set is the best.
Given that my monitor is HiDef, no I have no size issues in Gnome.
KDE apps under gnome look like kde apps.
Gnome look like gnome.
After I installed KDE, vscode title bar got bigger.so, KDE impacted look of some apps. Not gnome itself.
Good reason to have external drive backup and remote site backup.
$18.49 + shipping from newegg for new 500 gb sata drive would have saved your data. At these prices it could have been your new drive. Use rsync for quick drive backup.
Remote site backup is cheap these days.
Roughly $5 per 1 Terabyte per month. You can get lower for 160 gb of data with initial upload price spike. Use rclone for offsite backup.
My intel laptop on kde is unreliable, but gnome is super stable.
If you want windows like taskbar, you can turn it on gnome and other features that will make it more like windows.
On desktop with AMD video card I saw no difference between kde and gnome.
I ended up back on gnome. Because it was less distracting. I am a long time gnome user and kde was a curiosity. Latest versions of both (Arch Linux).
How is experience with mounted samba drives?
I found that apps don’t see them easily, which is a usability problem.
Poor integration with Google was a major reason to go back to Gnome.
What’s the value of to do app, calendar, events if I can’t have it synchronized across devices.
I tried it on my laptop. Apps that used to run without any problems would terminate randomly. I also tried it on desktop with AMD video card and didn’t observe this issue.
Overall i went back to gnome 3 days later.
It depends on your location and particularly on how strong the seasons are at your place.
It is not likely to be XFCE specific.
Make sure you have properly configured swap space and its size is larger than RAM. Because this will be the easiest cause. Some people stated as much as twice the ram size.

Jellyfin has mobile and desktop clients.
For me for a long time it was a coin toss between Plex and Jellyfin.
For some long forgotten reason I ended with Emby and eventually migrated to Jellyfin as its true free open source fork.
With jellyfin DLNA server i can play same music on Apple TV, etc. although DLNA clients are certainly not as nice as native apps. One can offset problem with playlists.

Constrained environments will always remain in C.
But RUST offers the best trade off today. It is way better than C++.
C IMO is not comparable to RUST.
Trust that it works well and it does. However, first gen was not as good as after it.

Endless usage time if using one headphone at a time. It is my preference usage method.
Cons: high price. After several years I expect to find comparable competition. It exists, and i use it, but i lost: 1, 2, 3 from my list. And usability is crap: accidentally touching headphone turns it off.
Downvotes shall list better headphones.
I myself have not found a better solution.
I like apple headphones and i settled on similar shaped non-apple brand at a fraction af the price, but it is lower in quality compared to apple. Microphone is crap and I stopped trying to use it. Headphones level is good at low level and high level sound reproduction, but it is not as accurate as apple.
In the end the trade off is worth it to me for the price, but i will not claim at is better.
So, bring on your alternative and price of it.
Mine lasted for years as far as battery is concerned.
Unfortunately the loudness level has dropped significantly. I went to Apple store and they acknowledged this as that’s what happens to them.
Eventually I gave up and replaced with alternative lower cost similar style headphones. The sound level is plenty, but microphone is terrible. I tried several and found I found similar problems. It is acceptable for much lower cost, but doesn’t compare.
