I can't imagine new players playing the game. I tried getting back in after missing most of the events since the 2nd dlc came out. So much of the story is gone now because they were only part of the event and inaccessible now. Doesn't even feel like the same game when I went back to it. Tried watching a 2 hour lore video for all the things that happene but that didn't help.
The obscure videogame subreddits are what I miss the most. Made one here on lemmy for a game I love and only one other person has commented since July.
Might take mine to the movie theater later tonight when I go see Scream. Hopefully tonight I'll get one street pass. Only person I got from the Mario movie on opening night was my friend next to me.

During college I had a local bank account mainly used just to buy stuff I needed during those two years I lived in a small ass college town.
Right before graduating my account was low since I wasn't adding more cash to that bank. A subscription I thought I canceled ended up charging me $35 more than I had in my bank account. The bank workers told me on the phone not to worry about it since I have overdraft protection and I can just cancel the purchase later with no charge.
They lied and I ended up getting charged an extra $35 for going over my balance. Still fucking hate that bank for making me deal with this during finals. Once the subscription was cancelled I still was in the negative because of the overdraft charges I was told wouldn't be used on me.
I still know some people that mod on reddit. Gonna ask if any were notified by reddit like these peeps lol.
And does this have any ties to the Fortnite subreddits with their own crypto stuff that came out earlier this year? I had almost modded that sub this year but decided against it when I found out they were dealing with crypto crap.

Gave the game another try after the update and I'm actually enjoying it now. Gotten to the 2nd map and there are a ton of enemies fighting everywhere now. They really did increase the amount of NPCs you see around the map.
Wanted something moody/dark to play during October and this has scratched that itch.
Only played solo but I'd rate it as a 6.5/10 now. The original version would be like a 5/10 to me.
I found gameplay on YouTube and it's some of the worst looking gameplay I've seen in a game for a while lol. The first 4 minutes is all you need to know.
You might enjoy Alan Wake 1 but the controls aren't for everyone. I absolutely loved it all the times I played but my friend couldn't stand the combat.
The story is very mysterious and I can't recall any gore at all in the game. The only kind of jump scares I can recall were from the combat when I didn't notice an enemy snuck up on me. It's something more easily manageable if you play on the easier difficulty as there is less of a threat.
The plot is really fucking great and has some of my favorite narration in a game. And it has a type of Eldritch horror story to it. You've probably already experienced it in that Alan Wake dlc for Control. You don't have to deal with it in Alan Wake like you did in Control.
Watch Next Generation or a few episodes of OG Star Trek & then seeing Wrath of Khan movie.
Starting with Next Generation isn't a bad option I think. The beginning is rough at parts but has some really good episodes in it. The series got much better after season 2. You could follow a skip list to skip over the episode that are deemed horrible on your first watch to make it all easier. It's worth going back later to watch them though.
Deep space nine follows up an event that occured in Next Generation, so that show might be confusing till you watch NG.
Voyager is pretty much self-contained since that's a big part of the story lol. Only thing that could be confusing would be a character that's sorta important later on that is from NG. It isn't much but just something to state if stuff like that bothers you.
Enterprise is a pretty okay show I think. It's the earliest show in the timeline and mankind's first exploration. People don't like it for some reasons that are completely justified but it's never been anything to stop me from enjoying it. Might be best to watch this after others because it is different.
OG Star Trek is a fun series to watch. Really episodic so you can find some of the best episodes and try just watching those. Watch 3/4 of the best (including the one was Khan) and then watch the movie "Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan".

This was from back earlier this year when Yogstation had a 3D test server up for a few months. Lavaland was a ton of fun to explore like this.
For a few months Yogstation had a test server up that converted their code into 3D. I probably spent close to 80 hours just playing and recording everything I could in 3D.
I wish the 3d server was still up. I had so much fun in it. Sorry for any of you that find this and are sad you missed it :(

Sorry for the crappy title. It's late and I'm typing from my phone. Tried to make it as descriptive as possible lol.
So I just tried to edit a comment I made earlier. After I clicked save on my edit, I tried editing the comment again since I misspelled a word. When the edit page popped up again I realized it was letting me edit the original comment again and not showing anything I just changed/saved on my last edit.
Example of what I mean
I make a comment saying "dog egg cat"
I edit the comment to remove "egg" and click save. Comment now shows as "dog cat"
I edit it again but it shows my comment still as "dog egg cat" as if my last edit didn't happen.

Figured I should make a post like this too. I'll start with my own comment a moment.
Hi anyone that finds this place! Realized that explaining what SS13 will be helpful for anyone coming across this place.
Space Station 13 is a free online game where you are on a space station and can choose from numerous jobs to do during your round/shift. Stuff like security guard/cook/doctor/miner/virologist/scientist/roboticist/chemistry/bartender/gift shop worker/janitor/The Clown. Each of those jobs have their own mechanics that can go extremely in depth and it’s fun to learn it on a job you enjoy.
Every round there will be antagonist picked from the players to be something like a traitor/vampire/changeling/demon/syndicate attackers/Skeleton pirates or even more. The job of the security team is to arrest/kill all the antagonist which can be hard since the antagonist have strong abilities or can buy a shit ton of wacky/lethal items from a machine like the traitors.
People have adapted the code to run their own servers based off properties like Aliens Vs Predators/Fallout/Warhammer/SCP. The AvP one is usually the most filled because it’s gameplay is great. It’s called SS13 Colonial Marines and totally worth a play too. That video I linked at the top contains gameplay of it.

Playing this server when it first launched was crazy. Dozens of people playing as D class and when the SCP got to them it was a bloodbath.
Stopped using Reddit when my app ended so now I wanted a new place to talk about the game. Hopefully more servers create their own variant of the community. I kept it the same as on Reddit with it being SS13.
Hope to see this all grow over the coming months lol. Going to start posting screenshots I saved up over the years in a bit.
