I’ve anecdotally had a fine time using Apple Maps since I switched a few years ago. Just wanted to mention there is a setting to avoid tolls; Settings->Maps->Driving will bring up a toggle. It’ll still give you the option, but it won’t default if it’s the shortest route.
Yeah, I joke that California does have four seasons - they're just Summer, Wildfire, and Mudslide. Possible Earthquake to shake things up.
But to be fair, it is a long state. SoCal gets most of the attention, but NorCal gets some great seasons as you get closer to the PNW
You'd think, but it can be difficult to save up moving costs for a long distance haul + deposits + getting a new job lined up while living paycheck to paycheck.
Long time resident of California (SoCal in particular), can confirm haughtiness. I've grown increasingly prideful of my state for holding strong on specific human right issues.
You're also right about the increasing disparity though. It feels like stratification is getting stronger and stronger each year. The Beach Cities area in particular, from my experience, where they're building a bunch of (very expensive) flats. California has had a history of states shipping homeless/refugees to us and that doesn't help our increasing number of state-grown displacements.
My main issue is title formatting. I don't dislike the TIL bot, but I do dislike the long title being cut off in my app.
Cheaper and easier to use an arrow, bird might not agree though.
Header got cut off for me; full quote for anyone else it happened to.
DeVoe sat in the control room and quietly listened to the recordings, and pressed the band at the end on why there was no "Blink-182 good-time summer anthem [thing]". DeLonge and Hoppus were furious, remarking, "You want a fucking single? I'll write you the cheesiest, catchiest, throwaway fucking summertime single you've ever heard!"[1][5] Hoppus went home and wrote "The Rock Show" in ten minutes, and DeLonge similarly wrote "First Date", which became the most successful singles from the record and future live staples.[4]
Firstly these are both inspired and adorable, but I also love how open you are about players using the files!
I think you might be on to something with the parks idea. I know California has a Protection Act on the books that covers ours.
As someone who has to deal with small pockets these new flip phones have been interesting to me. I'm just worried about how long that screen will last.
I was big into New World when it first launched and started recognizing prime exp nodes for woodcutting (those multi trunk aspen looking things) in my community.
In response to the tile comment ‘apparently it’s a thing’. It is, and unfortunately has been. This is non consensual pornography and it’s awful.
3 technically, 2 in use, and just because I didn’t really understand federation at sign up. Now I mainly use my beehaw and my shitjustworks account.
My family has that same energy and I’m so happy to read this slice of life :) as someone who drinks a lot of IPAs…maybe not ;)
Neodori Forever - 46 reviews (Positive) is also part of the Summer Sale!
I just picked this up and it's a fun and vibrant, pixel graphics, arcade style drifting game. There's a 'story' mode followed by an endless mode to keep you busy and the soundtrack made its way onto my playlist. I don't have a Steam Deck, but it seems like it'd be a good fit.
I had a great time with Final Fantasy XV near the top of this year. I had a ton of fun with the floaty combat and the character moments! The game got patched up for PC, so the only problem I had was that they stopped support after the rough release and didn't finish the story they intended to tell.
This led me to pick up Forspoken (same devs) as well despite the negative press. I can't think of a movement system I've enjoyed more. The writing isn't as awful as everyone says (IMHO) and the spell casting focus with parkour woven in is just chefs kiss. Slap on some tunes and grind out my masteries was how I spent a good month. Huge fan of the cuff character as well (no spoilers). Honestly was devastating to hear the studio close, because the DLC just released was pretty rad too.

Edit - RIP the double post bug got me too. Deleted comment's just a copy of this
