Rare China L.
  • They weren't really fighting "for" the Khmer Rouge back then. China saw itself encircled by USSR aligned countries, the incursion (can't call it invasion, it was only a couple local division, no airt support, no artillery, no naval support) served to demonstrate to Vietnam that the USSR would not go all in for it and it should thus cut the crap it did at the time (such as offloading reactionaries to China instead of dealing with them themselves, diverting weapons intended for Cambodias liberation struggle for themselves). China achieved it goal, hence it considers the incursion a military victory, because strategically it was. Vietnam stopped being a dick.

The alignment with Cambodia was because China needed a local counter balance to Vietnam. once the strategical goal was achieved, the alignment ended.

  • more like midwest.liberal
  • China did not have specialized riot police at the time, it flatout wasn't ever necessary. The PLA was the only force existing with the manpower and equipment to handle the situation.

  • If DPRK was as irrelevant as they told us, then what's all the panic about?
  • The slow progress is very much intentional. Less casualties for Russia, more for Ukraine. The digging in also was intentional, Ukraine was very open about its planned counter offensive. Russia dug in and let them come.

Don't get me wrong, there have been russian fuck ups, like, after the peace negotiation broke down, not taking into consideration that many contract soldiers might not renew their contracts.

  • 79°F "Heat Wave"
  • Yeah it's not perfect. But its usually no problem below 30C.

As for productivity, oh yes that certainly is affected. Completely agree with the US south being unliveable without AC, the US has far more extreme climate than europe.

  • 79°F "Heat Wave"
  • Even then, 26 C is not particulary hot. That's a normal summer here in Germany, where we also barely have any AC.

Dress lightly, keep shades down and windows closed over the day and you have it cool inside. Most european buildings keep the heat out and the warmth in, depending on the time of the year. Because most of europe has continental climate, relatively hot summers and relatively cold winters.

  • Finally got my Reddit account permabanned

All I had to do was mentioning that the US is illegally in Syria and Russia, Iran and the syrian government had every right to kill every last one of them.🥳

Finally got away from that timesink that is Reddit. 😁

I think we all need a laugh from time to time.

Its a goldmine. I only checked a few so far and its full of omissions, claiming random movements to be anarchist and decreeing random ones marxist.

This is what the radlibs mean when they claim the ebil tankies always killing them.
