Yeah, this is one of the main problems impeding lemmy's growth. Normies don't care about "instances."
Maybe there needs to be some rough IP geolocating to just pick one for them and redirect.
Ah yes, trotting out the "mild" narrative to incept it into the public mindset before it before H5 becomes the next "once in a century" pandemic in... the same century.
Pay no attention to the very first case in Canada, a previously healthy teenager with no comorbidities, who's now hospitalized in critical condition. I'm sure it's just astoundingly bad luck, nothing to see here.
Exactly. That's the "not addressing the actual problems" part. It's a sounds-good, feels-good, low impact, high visibility token effort. Throw out a little morsel for the general public that doesn't really help, but critically, doesn't impact profits for the wealthy class.
Did she, though? All I remember is something about a "new small business" subsidy fund, which is... good, I suppose, but didn't address any of the probkems the average American is facing.
Okay, there was also the suggestion of Medicare for all, which would put a dent in things, but I only heard it casually mentioned once and it sounded like something she was "open to discussing," not a core part of her platform.
Aside from that, there was nothing directly addressing the core daily problems the majority of people are experiencing, like overpriced living expenses and underpaid wages.
Technically, no. People have been turned away for DUI's from decades earlier. But, as the other reply said, Trumpitler has "immunity."
I don't understand it. How is anyone so politically deaf and blind? Even if the only thing you only listened to was Trumptler's word-vomit, this is exactly what he said he would do. And you still fucking voted for this assclown? How??
Fair point. It's going to be an absolute shitshow. If worm brain and felon fuckrat eviscerate the FDA, I don't even know vaccines would continue to exist in the US.
Certainly, pharmaceuticals have a vested interest in continuing to produce them. Best case, they defer to regulatory standards from other nations and the FDA becomes a rubber stamp agency. Worst case, they're allowed to peddle dangerous products without proper trialing.
WTF is going on in this thread? Are milkies the new tankies?
Hilariously, they'll be culling their own herd, so to speak. You just know the MAGAts will never wear masks again, even to save their own lives.
This has to be the way to (possibly literally) die on a hill. There's simply no downside to pasteurization. It effectively inactivates dangerous pathogens because, unless you have a cow in your back yard and can strictly adhere to your supposed "hygiene" protocols that magically negate the safe and reliable process of we've been using for well over a century... you know what, no. Your take is just ratfuck insane.
Yeah no, I didn't mean it that way. Shit's completely fucked, I probably just have outrage fatigue.
Nothing has happened to captain cheeto after he literally raped a child, so I can't say I'm surprised.
Yes. Not if, but when.
One can only hope it holds off until the tangerine tyrant's term is over and he hasn't completely destroyed US civilization by then.
But it's looking less and less likely since it recently made the jump to pigs (always a coal mine canary for increased likelihood of affinity for human infection and H2H transmission) and we're just speedrunning towards it through sheer negligence.
Narrator: they won't

What's the difference, really? Aren't they both decentralized microblogging social networks?
Well whaddaya know, you get what you pay for.
That being said, companies should be legally obligated to provide security patches for a minimum number of years.
OH SHIT OH FUCK
Blaming remote work, the avacado toast of 2023.
I don't remember being confused. But it was definitely one of those movies where I had to sit for 15 minutes after the credits rolled to process the emotional impact.
It seems that space would be perfect for the community title. If the title's too long, it could be truncated with horizontal scrolling.
Edit: problem solved!
I've noticed this in the larger threads (several dozens or hundreds of comments), scrolling becomes extremely laggy.
Edit: the lag doesn't seem it be caused by large threads, but by threads containing comments with embedded images
