VCs, Very Smart
  • I went through 3 of your sources and they claim that we can, in fact, turn to renewable energies. And that we should! None said anything about it being impossible. I guess maybe one of the others will say something like that, but honestly I'm not working to make your point for you.

Everybody except your strawmen agree there's a transition period. The problem is that due to many interests, the powers that be are dragging their feet.

  • Minecraft players outraged as Microsoft deletes accounts that weren't transitioned
  • Devil's advocate: the login requires a server, so even old versions won't work unless they keep them online. And without support, they will be easy target for hackers.

I hate this, and honestly the best would have been to not change the logging at all. I bought a game that didn't need a MS account to play and this change doesn't bring any benefit.

  • Apple punishes women for same behaviors that get men promoted, lawsuit says
  • Notable products manufactured by Foxconn include the BlackBerry,[6] iPad,[7] iPhone, iPod,[8] Kindle,[9] all Nintendo gaming systems since the GameCube, Nintendo DS models, Sega models, Nokia devices, Cisco products, Sony devices (including most PlayStation gaming consoles), Google Pixel devices, Xiaomi devices, every successor to Microsoft's Xbox console,[10] and several CPU sockets, including the TR4 CPU socket on some motherboards. As of 2012, Foxconn factories manufactured an estimated 40% of all consumer electronics sold worldwide.[11]

Foxconn is used by A LOT of companies. While I'm always ready to shit on apple for their double standards, let's not pretend they are the only ones. All those in the quote and many more deserve their share of shitting on.

To be clear, I'm not whatabouting, it's more "yes, and let's have the rest accountable too". I know you're not saying they only produce Apple, but this is overlooked too often

  • Nobody said to get rid of the laws. I'm telling to enforce them. Posting that and not following through is why people thinks they are stupid.

I'll root hard for anybody suing them. If they don't because they think it's impossible to win it because it's hard, then, they are the ones de-facto giving away the law.

  • Many such cases
  • Being OOS doesn't change that they read the last one that worked consistently for me. I'm not recommending to use it, just stating my experience.

Not sure were the business comment comes from.

  • Mozilla restores Firefox add-ons banned in Russia
  • Aside from blocking the add-ons site, they might block the update servers. Linux wouldn't be affected I think (unless they block rpm, apt... As a whole), but on windows I think it updates from Firefox servers directly.

There are probably ways around it, but it's a burden for the windows users.

  • Elon Musk Offered Horse To Flight Attendant In Exchange For Sex: Report
  • “My commitment: We will never seek victory in a just case against us, even if we will probably win,” he wrote. “We will never surrender/settle an unjust case against us, even if we will probably lose.”

Either he's full of shit, he did after a horse for sex or both.

  • Many such cases
  • Newest versions don't work very well. The only over that worked consistently got me read 2010.

I think part of the issue is that it's quite integrated with the system and that makes it harder. Crossover lists 2013 as working, but 2021 as not even installing

Any way to plug a 3.5 HD as "internal" drive on a small Thinkpad mini?

I have a Thinkpad mini that needs to expand it's disagree storage and have a couple of Red 4Tb with basically no use.

I wanted to plug one of them over USB, but it seems that docker just doesn't like to have volumes on external drives. AFAIK docker starts before the drive is fully mounted, preventing it from doing so. I couldn't find any reliable way to work around this (but I'm open to suggestions!).

I was wondering if it makes sense too just get an extension SATA cable, if they even exist, and have the drive outside the case. One of the worries I have is if it will have enough power (being meant for 2.5 drives originally).

The alternative would be to either change the server itself or to buy a larger 2.5 instead to keep up for a while.

[Question] Switch and Deck users, which games do you still prefer to play on switch?

My question is mostly for games available on Steam that you would still prefer to play on Switch. I imagine performance should be better on the deck for native/proton games, but there might be something else I am missing.
