  • Gerade die dynamic range ist eine Katastrophe bei Schallplatten, die beste Qualität beim ersten Abspielen erreicht bei Standardmaterial/Presswerk ca. 55-65 dB bei den besten Material und Pressqualität eventuell bis zu 70 dB, danach wird es durch die Abnutzung schlechter und schlechter. Aber Kassetten (Metallband Typ 4 - also das beste) erreichen sogar nur ca. 56 dB, die heute verwendeten Billigbänder eher sowas um 40 dB. Bei alten Mono-Vinylaufnahmen aus den 40ern hast du auch im Neuzustand auch irgendwas um 40 dB.

    Bandgeräte können übrigens bis zu 90 dB unter idealen Umständen erreichen.

    CDs dagegen können technisch 96 dB mit 16 bit erreichen, 120 dB mit Verwendung von Dither. 20 bit 120 dB, 24 bit 144 dB.

    Aber das ist alles theoretisch, weil die Aufnahmequalität natürlich das wichtigste überhaupt ist. Wenn das Master zu Tode komprimiert ist, nützen auch 144 dB dynamic Range wenig, wenn davon nur 20 dB überhaupt verwendet werden.
