  • Jellyfin is the way. Costs nothing other than the hardware needed and nobody is selling anything about you.

Our personal streaming library with Jellyfin is bigger than any public service and we can add to it from VHS, DVD, Blueray, though extra equipment was required for the VHS/Blueray.

It’s also available anywhere we go and we can set up separate accounts for different family members. There’s even a phone app.

  • Good. It should die.

AI is trash, and the only folks impressed with it are uneducated and unskilled to begin with- they don’t see all the inaccuracies nor do they have the capacity to see how flawed it is.

It’s essentially just a parrot, with an immense library to work from. An admin can tell it to give improper information and it will. That isn’t “intelligence”, artificial or otherwise. It’s just a big match game of matching a response to a prompt and doing so just well enough to fool the average user…of sixth grade intelligence.

  • I feel it, too.

I prefer to use neutral sources like actual actions, voting records, and other public information - but that is too complicated for the average American with a sixth grade level reading and emotional intelligence.

I am finding the level of education seems to be a bit higher on Lemmy than other platforms, so I am considering not recommending them here.

  • You can do whatever you want, but good luck finding anything other than trailer trash with that disposition.

Thank you for proving my point, though. You sound like an ape, beating your chest and screeching impotently.

  • Those are very fair criticisms.

I think Meidas is trying to get the message out to the folks who are sub-sixth grade English skills and therefore they use more emotional content to connect with the folks who are…less intellectual/less able to really understand the depth of what is going on from a reading perspective. They also try to appeal to the Gen Z audience, which is definitely annoying but also necessary.

They do these things because that is where the left’s messaging fails- at emotional people, at Gen Z, and at lower education levels.

Aaron Parnas is doing a good job, and is a lot less emotional on his TikTok and Substack. He may be a good resource as well.

  • When a felon is President, you fight with what you have.

You, obviously, enjoy being complicit by judging fighting methods instead of fighting. That’s called sabotage and it’s classic CIA. So pardon if we ignore you, bootlicker.

The media has a choice. They chose to side with Trump so we will give them the consequences of their actions.

  • Proper headline:

“ICE Agent Faces Consequences of Own Actions, Resigns”

We have something else we do to handle ICE agents in Appalachia. Long history here of administering consequences to the feds, despite the recent voting history.

  • You don’t, but they don’t want you to know you can just change the URL a bit and never hit the paywall.

None of the news organizations in the USA deserve payment because they do not report news, they act as propaganda agents.

Meidas Touch is currently the best news source and they can be found on BlueSky, TikTok, YouTube, as well as their podcast.

  • Old lady here. Neurodivergent also. Let me share some of what I have learned.

People like your father are, simply put, radicalized by right wing propagandists. Maybe he was a good person at some point in his life, but the propaganda is a tool for brainwashing- he isn’t the person he may once have been. And he probably will never be, again.

To that group, compassion and kindness are considered bad. For this reason, I ask that you use extreme caution and understand that your dad may believe there is ”honor” in hurting you or those you care about. This is a very real possibility and I encourage you to find safe shelter elsewhere, if possible.

If you need help, let us know. Please do not trust this man anymore. I know it’s hard when it is our parents, but many of us have gone through this already and know the process.

  • It was a typical season 2 for a show where season 1 was well liked.

In other words, it is trash.

Watchable for effects and because we cared in the first season, but by the end we no longer care.

The Last of Us season 2 is similar- I just watched it and the producer should be ashamed. Season 1 was the best television in years: Season 2 is trash.
