What are your thoughts in mobile games?
  • I have a couple thousand hours of play on Slay the Spire on my iPad. It’s such a perfect game for mobile. I play it on the plane, at night on work trips, been playing it again on vacation this week. Just a fantastic grab-it-and-go gaming experience.

  • Microsoft Nintendo acquisition hopes revealed by leaked Xbox exec email
  • Xbox has backwards compatibility for games all the way back to the original Xbox. Not only is there backwards compatibility, but pretty much all those old games also get HDR support and some of the big ones like Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect also got 4k textures for 10+ year old games, free of charge (don’t have to buy a remaster, etc)

  • Another Date night dinner- Ratatouille
  • I never liked it in North America when I tried it for these reasons.

But then I had it in the south of France, and holy crap it was almost life-changing. I had ordered a meat dish as well and all I wanted to eat was the ratatouille! I can see why this dish is popular there, as it really depends on having high quality vegetables to make the dish sing.

I think of it like a a good steak. If your steak quality is poor, it will not be good on its own and should be used with additional sauces and flavours.

  • Been using memmy but this seems nicer
  • It’s one of the features I miss most from Apollo! It would preview the comment that’s a direct parent to the selected one. Great for the reading and comprehension experience across many use cases.

  • Removed
Donald Glover and Brother Stephen to Write ‘Lando’ Series at Disney+ as Justin Simien Exits
  • If it’s a quality show, I’m down for it. It’s only an issue if it’s low quality. We could have stopped a while back and never got Andor, but I’m damn glad we got it.

Hopefully Lando will be good as well.

  • Xbox wins, FTC loses again
  • Even Microsoft agrees they’d prefer to do it by producing competitive games, which isn’t in question here though. The dispute is whether this gives Microsoft an anti-competitive monopoly.

Even though mergers of this size aren’t good for gamers, it doesn’t even put Microsoft anywhere near equal footing with Sony, never mind giving Microsoft a monopoly.

  • Xbox wins, FTC loses again
  • Because Sony is so far ahead in the console battle that it’s important they have competition (Nintendo is not competition).

There’s a push and pull here in terms of exclusives being bad but also having Sony becoming a monopoly / having no completion would also be bad.

  • 5 Reminders NOT to Pre-Order Games This Year ~ We used to demand trials before buying before, what happened? ~ Stop Pre ordering Games
  • I would also guess the people doing preorders comparatively aren’t the ones who are the harshest critics of the game and are more likely to enjoy the experience.

The caveat being that this would not be true if the game is a buggy mess that isn’t uncommon on launch these days.

  • is wefwef only ment to be web app or will it be released as an app?
  • I don’t think that makes you a purist, I think that just means you have ocd or something 😅

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I personally think there are way more important reasons for the developers and users as to PWA or native.

I love the frequency of updates wefwef is providing us to improve the user experience by bypassing the approval process of submitting every update to the app stores. And instantly makes the app accessible to users across platforms and not limited to just iOS or android.
