Georgia’s ‘pro-life’ abortion ban literally killed a woman — and she won’t be the last
  • She basically died because she told the doctors she had taken miso. At this point she absolutely needed a D&C but because Georgia law said that's bAd, doctors risked losing their licenses to help her. And by the time they were going to, it was too late.

But hey, it was a woman who died, and she was black, so definitely not the kind of person they care about.

    Ugh. So disgusting.

  • Parental stress is a significant public health issue, US surgeon general says in new advisory
  • ..... My FIL just asked me if this is actually true.

Yes, FIL. I wanted to ask him how much he even helps, because sitting on his phone in my living room watching sports commentary videos every week isn't contributing positively to my kids' lives.

  • Any parents with college students or soon to move out these may help
  • Locking this because nothing productive or positive is happening in the comments.

  • It probably does help to quantify, though I suspect all the numbers in the world wouldn't change some minds.

  • Man, did they really need a study for this?? Seems pretty obvious but I guess not.

Let's see, what are points of stress? Costs of living, raising children, time...

  • Trick Wednesday - what is the latest parenting "hack" you figured out?
  • Ohhh ok. I don't think the vinegar odor would linger despite not really being able to rinse it out.

  • A Fels naptha bar may be your friend too.

  • Trick Wednesday - what is the latest parenting "hack" you figured out?
  • Nah vinegar is great for removing odors, or even just used as a fabric softener. Does not make clothing smell like vinegar. Obviously you rinse it out.

  • Worth noting that this did not work when they were infants, especially not for my oldest.

  • Somehow, simply touching my kids helps calm them down enough to sleep. Now my four year old reaches for my hand at night. Am I trapped for a while? Yes. Do I mind? Not one bit.

  • Freaky Friday - what was the last thing your child was afraid about?
  • Dinner. I don't even know why.

  • Parenting Tip (dad of 8). Band-aids. Keep a lot of them and use them for ANYTHING. No justification necessary. You want one? You got it.
  • My 2 year old treats them like stickers but for any pain she has. Or just to stick on her forehead.

  • You're doing it. One day at a time.

  • School age kids?
  • That sounds intense and incredibly stressful. Kudos for all your hard work.

  • School age kids?
  • I'd not heard of that before. Does the therapist help? If it's ok I ask, at what point did you realize it wasn't just "picky kid" and was something deeper?

  • School age kids?

Do folks here have school age kids? Curious about parenting struggles and how issues have been resolved.

    Poor AQI, trapped inside

Running out of ideas to entertain my toddler and preschooler. Help! One eats everything and the other is in full three-nager mode.

    Toddler Antics

My 3 year old just kicked me off the couch so she could invite her dad to come snuggle with her.

What are your kids up to?

    New parenting community

I've been thinking about this for a few days. I want a place where parents can come talk about parenting with a group of peers to commiserate, seek advice, provide advice, etc.

Parents of all children of all ages are welcome.

Do you want to help mod?

Title says it all. I've built up communities before but that w as s before I had any children. I'd love some help here. Something about how it takes a village comes to mind. 😂

I want this to be a respectful place. If a child's health or safety is at risk, feel free to speak up. Respectfully.
