Rich Americans are getting second passports, citing risk of instability
  • I don't believe you can owe allegiance to two different entities at the same time.

Maybe tell that to the German government, they just passed the dual nationality bill into law. And even before that it allowed both Israel and Iran to be dual German nationals.

  • Even Korea is starting to prefer an iPhone over a Samsung
  • Korea is extremely class conscious and people treat people differently based on perceived wealth. iPhone being considerably expensive than Samsung offerings in Korea is an instant wealth signifier and having an iPhone means you are perceived as upper rich class than those pesky poor Samsung, which is now associated with old people or who couldn't afford an iPhone.

  • Apple’s rejection of Hey calendar app revives an old feud
  • Just because you married the daughter of someone dumb, the rest of us should suffer? Due to this walled garden approach, the big companies are carving pieces of once open Internet to create their own secluded corners which only stifles competition. I always liked apple as a technology company, but their transition into a lifestyle brand only emboldened their gatekeeping. I am glad they were forced to adapt to USB-C, and I hope that in future, they be forced to open their AppStore.

  • Pakistan human rights body says an upcoming election is unlikely to be free and fair
  • Pakistani Military has been doing groundwork for months to ensure the election results. Forced abductions of politicians and journalists, threatening peoples families with physical and sexual violence and forcing/buying judges to disqualify and reject nomination papers for election. These elections are set to compete with 1965 general elections which were rigged beyond belief to ensure a win for military backed Ayub Khan. They tried to do the same in the 1970 general elections, and even though they initially didn't succeed, they didn't let the winning majority party to form the government by illegal arrests and violence and forcefully dismantling them, which resulted in riots and eventually allowed East Pakistan, aka Bangladesh to get independence from Pakistan.
