Recall: Microsoft re-launches ‘privacy nightmare’ AI screenshot tool
  • I was a windows only person forever Ubuntu Linux is way easier than I thought. Most things have a decent Linux version now & idk… if it doesn’t it’s not worth it.

Months and months and I haven’t looked back 🤷‍♂️ So. Maybe you could do that too?

  • Netflix’s Monsters is ‘murder porn’ at its worst. It comes at a cost to real victims – and the truth.
  • You had my UGGGH at Ryan Murphy.

TLDR: total rant below but you’re better off reading it than watching some Ryan Murphy intestinal tripe 🙏👋

He did basically the same kind of grimy leer with the Ted Bundy thing (I think? I try to avoid his work) & IIRC the mother of one of the victims then said a similar thing.

The well-known actors he hires are wasted (save the gem performances like Javier Bardem’s sounds like), & the unknown actors he hires are… I’m sure they’re lovely people 😬 & totally didn’t get hired bc RM wanted to fk them 🫠

Ryan Murphy’s work is glitzy tawdry mediocrity that really wants to be as out there as, idk, a Lady Gaga video. Glee was a flimsy opportunity to sell bad iTunes covers of pop songs. Pose was the rare thing he’s done that made anyone better for watching. American Horror Borey wouldn’t make for daytime talk show material on Shudder.

Idfc care about his Emmys or Tonys, his shit is bad and it just makes us worse for spending time with it. Watching his stuff feels like I’m eating a salad made of cash that a 19yo crystal-sniffing himbo pulled out of his sweaty Florida-summer sock to pay for a pack of menthols.

    Menthol lights.

Watch ANYTHING else I’m begging you. Kurzgesagt videos. BBW-gainer-feeder porn starring Mr Beast. C-Span. Melania’s tits. Anything.

See, I told you you’d spend your time better reading this rant

  • Woman, 79, fell while hiking. A stranger carried her for hours on his back.
  • This story is a good reminder of the truth about human beings (told in Rebecca Solnit’s “Paradise Built In Hell”) : when real, actual tragedy strikes, people stick together, we risk our lives for strangers. It’s at the core of our moral sense. It’s what’s gonna get us through what’s coming.

Stories like this help keep that in mind ❤️🙏

  • John Conway proves that 91 is the smallest number which looks prime but isn't
  • Some superstitious nerdy teenagers convinced small child me that 91 was a universal anomaly bc it’s 13 (bad luck) * 7 (good luck), so my weird brain never saw 91 as prime , & I can’t be the only person this happened to

  • How to remove "Creative Cloud Files" folder from Windows Explorer
superuser.com How to remove Creative Cloud Files shortcut from Windows Explorer (left Navigation Pane) after April 2021 update?

The "Creative Cloud Files" shortcut was a pain to get rid of in the past, but after a recent update in spring 2021, the damn shortcut is back, and none of the old tricks work anymore. Has

How to remove Creative Cloud Files shortcut from Windows Explorer (left Navigation Pane) after April 2021 update?

I had already uninstalled Creative Cloud but its zombie folder was still there. (Win11/64bit/most recent updates.) Looked for hours, tried tons, nothing would work. Maybe for you Adobe's unPinCCF tool would work, or using regedit to set System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree to 0 would - but not for me.

TLDR (thanks, Aubrey and Bortao) Delete the following registry key (after making a backup of your registry ofc):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\0E270DAA-1BE6-48F2-AC49-5CE0DBECC398

Bortao reports- "The last part of the number is random, so open Regedit and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace, find a key starting with 0E270DAA-1BE6-48F2-AC49 and remove it." Me, I found it by Ctrl-F and looking for "creative cloud files" until I landed on that one. Deleted it, rebooted, GONE.

This is NOT the only thing that worked for other people, so I should post my notes from this long trek, maybe one of the simpler paths might work for others

    Loom alternatives / help?

Loom alternatives? Recording a demo here. Desktop app dies often, only a reinstall gets it going again briefly. (Win11, VPN or not, permissions all set, HDR unchecked.)

Web app won’t show my camera on VSCode or Git, only the Loom site. That part is vital 🤷‍♂️ so I’m stuck using the desktop app I think. (using FF mostly but tried Chromium (pls no Chrome))

Will just buying it magically fix all this? 🤷‍♂️ Thanks in advance for any ideas 👍✌️
