Not really what I was looking for but thanks for the suggestion.
On every site I've checked it uses a random css tag so can't block more than one.
A lot of internet publications today have videos in the middle of their articles that have nothing to do with the actual content. Example in this WIRED article here.
I'm wondering if there is an active blocklist for this kind of content? I already have uBlocks "annoyances" all subscribed. These videos slow down the pages and are too numerous to block individually.
This comment is arguing against points I did not make, and continuing to blame the antifascist coalition for the rise of fascism.
I wonder, what was the Democratic party wearing when they lost the election?
Twisting of words and arguing against a point someone didn't make is a common alt-right "debate" strategy. Readers please note that I did not say that members of the Democratic party are above criticism. The person I am replying to continues to blame antifascists for the rise of fascism.
"The Democrats are fascists" is exactly the narrative MAGA espouses. When someone ostensibly anti-MAGA attacks the largest coalition of anti-MAGA forces, that person is pro-MAGA.
That's the narrative they espouse, but if you think about it for more than a second, no rational antifascist would attack another antifascist when there are fascists around. It's all about trying to divide a meaningful antifascist coalition.
The vast majority of internet ""leftists"" are MAGA trolls trying to divide.
- Trump was a bigot, which is what a majority of Americans wanted.
Weird how so many of you demonize the largest most powerful organization of antifascists in America instead of those who voted to give Trump power. It's almost like you are trying to sow division in the anti-trump electorate 🤔
Hey everyone, when you see comments like this from a ""Leftist"" who only ever criticizes "The Dems" for right-wing victories, and never puts the responsibility on the actual, y'know, Trump supporters, that user is a MAGA supporter trying to divide the left and prevent the formulation of a broad antifascist coalition capable of changing the course the GOP has set.
These "non voters" did not actually sit out the election, they are trying to convince you to sit out the next one (or vote third party etc etc). Don't fall for it! We are in this together.
"A jewish black trans woman would have won Alabama in a landslide, but only if she was a really outspoken socialist" - Half of Lemmy users
I think a lot of left-oriented people are in denial that Trump made no secret of who he was the past eight years, and Americans got exactly what a majority of them legitimately wanted. Trump voters know he is a bigot and that is why they chose him. There is no degree of populist social welfare rhetoric Kamala or the Democrats could have said that would have moved the needle when for most voters, electing a bigot was the priority over all other issues.
I've actually checked that out and it's well made but way more than just a subscription tool, it's more for downloading/preserving entire channels.
I've seen that but either I'm an idiot or that is a CLI tool. What makes Sonarr nice is that it's config is all done through a web browser meaning you don't need to edit config files anytime you want to change something.
Thank you for sharing though I may try and get it set up one day
I wish there was a YouTube equivalent of Sonarr that just uses yt-dl to auto-grab and organize YT channels you want as new episodes come out. Then you could just play with Plex or Jellyfin.
I am in a similar boat. Since you have Tidal might want to look into Tidal-dl to "backup" the things you especially like in high quality.
Tidal is actually not too bad, and it pays artists more than other services (not a lot, just more) but I do expect it to go downhill/away eventually so I make a habit of downloading what I can and supporting the artist directly in other ways.
Overseerr is basically a polished front end for Radarr/Sonarr. It's useful if non-techies are requesting things, and/or you just want a single, dead-simple place to request (video) media. If you want to just try it out it doesn't affect your radarr/sonarr setup at all.
@ShepherdPie@midwest.social gave a good explanation of Prowlarr. Just another simplification/automation tool.
The simple answer:
Get Qbittorrent and use it's built-in search engine.
The fully automated gay space answer:
- Look into selfhosting - (optional but makes it easier/coler)
- Look into Plex (or Emby or Jellyfin) - optional but makes it pretty
These are the apps you'll need:
- Radarr - Gets movies
- Sonarr - Gets tv shows automatically as they come out
- Prowlarr - the thing that does the searching for radarr/sonarr.
- Overseerr - Makes it simple to request stuff
- Qbittorrent - downloads things
(There is also Lidarr for music and Readarr for books)
If all set up correctly, you simply just request something with Overseerr and it shows up in Plex minutes later with artwork and metadata all pulled in and presented nicely. You can configure the apps to look for specific resolutions/file sizes/formats/etc. TV shows are downloaded as soon as a new episode is released. It's better than any streaming service by leaps and bounds.
The fact that they are only here was the final straw for me to make the switch to Lemmy.
Physical buttons please and thank you
I'm getting hung up because nobody clarified that until now thank you.
I want to use myanonymouse to download/seed books but it requires you to download from the same IP as you use to browse the website. My qBittorrent is in docker container on my home server, using gluetun with a VPN.
I tried both of these instructions to no avail I think there is something I'm missing. Shadowsocksqt5 latency just says "error" and using the chrome extension suggestion just simply doesn't load anything.
The reason I don't want to seed from my workstation pc is because myanonymouse requires you to seed to maintain your account and the workstation is mostly off. My home server is always on. Any ideas?
A search for this only brings up adapters to plug M.2 drives into a PCIE slot which is not what I want because I don't have a PCIE slot.
What I want is M.2 > M.2 (2x, 3x, etc). Does this exist?

From Trekmovie:
>David Ajala: A moment I wanted to share is something that happens in season 5. I remember speaking to Alex Kurtzman about this at the end of shooting season 4 and it was an idea that he shared with me and I think Michelle Paradise was the only other person that knew about this thing at the time. Then cut to season 5… we get to come back to Toronto and create something so very special. [Sonequa interjects “We did”] I’m so proud and happy that we got to do that because you know how amazing that was to do. And I can’t wait for you guys to experience the very secretive thing which I can’t talk about which we got to do.

Lets just hope they don't mean the "I liked it before it got woke" jerkwads.
I have a few shows like the Daily Show I'll sometimes watch the monologue but not the full episode.
Plex has a setting to "Keep unwatched episodes" which will delete never-watched episodes, and another to "delete X days after viewing" for fully-watched episodes. But if an episode is partially watched, neither applies and it just sits there.
This seems like a weird oversight and I am wondering if there's a setting I'm missing. I can't be the first person who wants "delete 7 days after adding regardless of anything else"
