I might be getting a car tomorrow
  • Owning a car is a significant expense. Insurance, registration, gas, deq. I understand this is a gift from the heavens, but be prepared to take ownership for what can become a costly responsibility.

  • Capsaicin
  • Reminds me of the Exploratorium in San Francisco. They have an exhibition that has a long rail with metal coil wrapped around it. On one side, the coils are warm to the touch. On the other side, they're cold to the touch. In the middle of the rail, the coils alternate hot-cold-hot-cold, and when I first touched it, my reflexes yanked my hand away because the nerves interpreted it as "so hot the 'burned nerves' feel cold". Took a few attempts to be able to hold my hands there, and the sensation was very confusing. Would recommend+

  • quitting caffeine?
  • Yeah, a bunch of times. I did five years in the coffee shop mines where excess consumption was encouraged. Switching to halfcaf or decaf when ordering coffee and switching to black tea as my morning drink helped a lot. I cut back because I was getting stomach indigestion, anxiety, loss of appetite, that kind of stuff. And upon reflection, I was actually more tired the more I drank caffeine; I was basically slug energy anytime I wasn't actively consuming caffeine. Cutting it out has helped my energy levels a lot. I'm overall better off cutting it out and encourage you to give it a try.

  • Most important meme of the day
  • Do you want the super savory salty meat pile or the bread soaked in sugar? Or how about just mouthfuls of plain scrambled eggs? Don't forget the greasy undercooked undersalted hash browns. Now, cover it all in ketchup. Them's fine dining.

Ways to break the law to get money quick? Should I start stealing bikes?
  • Yeah honestly this is your best bet. You'll be union and they'll train you/help get certs. It's working outside in inclement weather, because that's when you're needed most, but it pays fat stacks and you'll learn a shit ton.

  • America is a land of contrasts

Article 1: county refuses to reopen warming shelters despite snow and ice covering city and temperatures haven't been above 32°f in a week and warming shelters had record usage during the storm. Says they "can't open unless temp goes below 25 or there's an inch of snow coming down or it's below 32 and raining an inch".

Article 2: heartwarming emergency personnel save a hecking doggo from too much smow.

God damn America, that's in the Bible.
