The Whisperer in Darkness is a novella by H. P. Lovecraft. Written February-September 1930, it was first published in Weird Tales, August 1931. Similar to "The Colour Out of Space" (1927), it is a blend of horror and science fiction.
Novel by H. P. Lovecraft
The story follows Albert Wilmarth, a professor at Arkham University, who becomes embroiled in a mystery involving strange occurrences in rural Vermont. He is contacted by Henry Akeley, a farmer who claims to have discovered evidence of extraterrestrial beings, known as the Mi-Go, who inhabit the hills and are involved in bizarre activities, including mining a mysterious metal.
>Art by Gesi An
Akeley claims to have evidence of extraterrestrial beings and their human allies. As the correspondence unfolds, Wilmarth's skepticism transforms into a mix of panic and enthusiasm, leading him to visit Akeley, who appears to be hiding critical information.
Akeley's increasingly erratic behavior and unsettling revelations about these beings lead Wilmarth to confront terrifying truths about the universe and humanity's place within it

The Mandela Catalogue is a prominent analog horror web series created by Alex Kister, first released on June 9, 2021. Set in the fictional Mandela County, Wisconsin, the series explores themes of identity, psychological horror, and the invasion of demonic entities known as "Alternates." These shape-shifting beings aim to psychologically torment their victims, ultimately seeking to assume their identities as doppelgängers. The series is heavily infused with biblical allusions, suggesting that these Alternates are akin to demons, with the archangel Gabriel depicted as a malevolent figure

Analog horror can be seen as a descendant of creepypasta and found footage films. It draws inspiration from earlier works like The Blair Witch Project and The Ring, which utilized similar themes of manipulated media and unsettling narratives. The genre gained traction with the success of Local 58, No Through Road, and Gemini Home Entertainment. It is characterized by its use of low-fidelity visuals, cryptic messages, and a nostalgic aesthetic reminiscent of late 20th-century television and analog media, often set between the 1960s and 1990s

Here's the thing: I'm on lemmy.world, and there's already a community about Analog Horror called "!analoghorror@lemmy.federated.club." I've posted there frequently over the past year. However, subscriber and vote engagement are quite low (ofk is not about the likes but i enjoy to have a minimum ammount of people checking the comunity posts to discuss a bit in the comment). Also the community mod seems to not be around anymore. Now I had a similar situation with another horror group before and since I've started my version on lemmy.world I was indeed able to find a small but active group of subscribers. Should I do the same? Would you be interested in this?
Btw.
> Analog horror is a subgenre of horror fiction and an offshoot of the found footage film genre, said to have originated online during the late 2000s and early 2010s with web series such as No Through Road, Local 58, Gemini Home Entertainment, and Marble Hornet.

Is always good to confront and share opinions. 👌
I've find a fan-made edited version online who cut away the whole elf-romance arc and it feels way better to watch.
Yes, My Master!!
"Is that a big glowing T-Rex, or are you just happy to see me?"
Not really. What I mean was common moral ground regarding how people should coexist with each other. Or to cite Martin L.K.
"My freedom ends where your freedom starts."
So al long you don't take action who actively damages others, you can live (and let live) a healthy life. Identifying yourself with other genders is a personal choice and has nothing to do with that.
Creating a meme about being a better person than someone else is a great way to prove your argument.
Anyway, i think that anyone can achieve a healthy and civil lifestyle as long as they actively decide to follow common moral principles. By common i mean literally "relating to the community as a whole".

https://www.draganbibin.com/
Dragan Bibin is a Serbian painter known for his work that explores themes of the human condition, particularly the darker aspects of human psyche and the struggles, fears, and anxieties that humans face. His art often involves the use of animals and eerie interiors to create a sense of unease and isolation. Deimos was the god of terror in ancient Greece, he was the son of Ares and Aphrodite, and the twin brother of Phobos, god of horror.
>With this work I am exploring terror, rather than horror. The distinction was first characterized by the Gothic writer Ann Radcliffe. Terror is characterized by “obscurity” or indeterminacy in its treatment of potentially horrible events; it is this indeterminacy which leads to the sublime. She says in her essay that it “expands the soul and awakens the faculties to a high degree of life”.
