How the automobile industry turned us into SUV drivers
  • Not if they crash into stationary objects like rocks, etc. In that case the amount of force the driver will experience will be 2-3 times higher compared to the amount of force a driver of a normal sedan will experience if he had the same accident.

But yeah, those trucks are getting ridiculously big and heavy. They are not only bad for the environment, they are bad for the roads and other drivers and pedestrians. I am living in Europe and it is really infuriating that those cars are like 1.5 times a normal car and then you can't even find a parking spot.

  • Even Apple finally admits that 8GB RAM isn't enough
  • If you know what RAM is, and you bought an 8GB Mac in the last 10-years, then you are likely self-aware of your limited demands and/or made an informed compromise.

Or you simply refuse to pay $200+ to get a proper machine. Like seriously, 8GB Mac's should have disappeared long ago, but nope, Apple stick to them with their planned obsolescence tactics on their hardware, and stubbornly refusing to admit that in 2023 releasing a MacBook with soldered 8Gb of RAM is wholy inadequate.

  • ‘Julian Assange is free’: Wikileaks founder freed in deal with US
  • But it's sad that whistleblowers are even persecuted in a so-called democracy. Like you know you fucked up, but instead of feeling humble and ashamed you start persecutions of the people who have exposed you, while preaching what an exemplary democracy you are to the rest of the world.

Same with ICC, ICC exposes your ally as a war criminal and instead of withholding law, you start thinking how to sanction the judges and obstruct their actions, because you feel above the law. The US is acting like a school bully who is the only one who can say what's right or wrong in big parts of the rest of the world, they try to influence foreign governments and install their own candidates, so in a way, they aren't much better than China or Russia. Heck they even tapped the phones of their allies back then and probably still do.

  • Does Israel seriously care?

They have shown us that they will act with supreme impunity and only if there are foreigners involved in Israel's killings there would be an investigation and eventually a backlash.

Wealth inequality starts at birth. Lawmakers debate whether child savings accounts can help
  • My parents lost all their savings due to hyperinflation. I can't imagine how crushing this could be to a parent. All your life you have saved some money, putting them every month to a savings account in a bank, just to wake up one day and realise that they have disappeared.

Back then I didn't realise how bad it is, but now as an adult, I can only imagine how they felt back then. Life sucks and fucks you up a lot.

    Detroit: Become Human

This game was for some time in my watch list, but I have never pulled the plug, and oh boy, was I in for a treat.

The game is very interesting depicting a dystopian future, where we are all headed, with an even bigger divide between rich and poor. A future completely driven by technological innovation for better or worse. The story gives you interesting perspectives from both the fortunate and less fortunate people and gives you an idea about their emotional struggles, thoughts, etc.

The game is story driven and it is not competitive or fast paced. It is for those of you who enjoy the good story and to see the consequences of their actions or words. I really recommend it and I dread the day, I will reach the end the same way I dread the day I finish an extremely captivating book, as it will leave a small void in my soul.
