What game holds a special place in your heart?
  • Some Sega Genesis games when i was a kid, Streets of Rage, Sailormoon, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 which i have never finished IDK maybe its the game that's a bit too hard or maybe I'm just too dumb.

Fast Forward to 2009, i played a game called The Mana World. It's my first and only experience with online game. I made some good friends on and from the game, i think the overall community is very nice and helpful. I got hooked leveling up and reached to level 93 in few months. Unfortunately i have to cut the game because i need to focus on my study. Still its my greatest memories with gaming!

  • Brave will not add Web Integration support
  • If by what you mean by Mozilla going downhill is losing marketshare.

    1. it's most likely because Google promoting Chrome whenever you visit google.

    2. Also add to that bad business decision they have made for example buying Pocket.

    3. Those at Mozilla helm i think is always bad. Brendan with his homophobia, Mitchell Baker with her salary rise while firing employees.

  • Brave will not add Web Integration support
  • With his position back then Brendan could make an impact making the world less hateful place to be yet he chose not to by supporting ban on gay marriage.

After the backlash he stepped down, he started a startup company that make web browser which is now known as Brave (brave choice of name for unapologetic homophobic).

  • Brave will not add Web Integration support
  • Brendan is quick to act when it comes to $$$$.. and anti LGBT law

  • I prefer Wayland (.social) though

  • KDE Plasma 6: Better Defaults
  • Quick question, has the relation between KDE (the organization) and Qt company improved? I remember reading about the tension regarding Qt 6 that will be available under different term such as waiting time for non paying license holder to use latest release.

  • Hostel in Rome and Free Dinner

Hi. I haven't got any chance to ask this question when I'm in Rome back in 2019.

I'm from Global South so even though I'm not youth anymore I'd stay in a youth hostel (you know the one with bunk-bed thing, right?) because that's all i can afford. Somehow these €25-30 Hostel are giving away free dinner. What i can imagine is that the hostel already made thin profit due to the price yet they are able to do this.

Can anyone explain if this part of culture in Rome? Because i didn't get the same warm atmosphere when I'm in Milano and Genoa.

Just to make it clear, i stay in two different Hostel on two seperate occasions and those two Hostel in Rome giving away free dinner.

Anyway, what I admire is that the free dinner thing really bring people together, people from different country sitting together in one huge table asking each other questions, you know just to get to know each other. And after dinner all the people from the hostel including some staff are all went out hanging out together at a local bar. From that point i notice that me and all the people there are not really different, maybe physically different but the way we think not much different, i think we are all good people.

Cambodians vote Sunday in an election that's been widely dismissed as a sham, one that will extend the 38-year rule of Hun Sen and set the stage for a dynastic succession to his son.

If someone from the 1950s suddenly appeared, what would be the most difficult thing to explain about life today?
  • You know what I'll be just take them grocery shopping at a supermarket and show them that for X amount of money you'll get less items.

  • Google is working on essentially putting DRM on the web
  • Gonna play devil's advocate here.. I think most Mozilla money comes from Google and i think the reason Google keeps the money flowing to Mozilla is for Chrome to have a real competitor, Firefox to date is the only popular web browser with different engine and all that. Maybe it's fair for me to say that it resembles a tiny tiny fraction of why Intel keeps AMD alive back then.

As for EFF, i viewed them as just another NGO. For me most NGOs will have a non achievable goals, because it will be the dead of an NGO if they ever achive their goals. (No more money for them).

I'm not against people donating to Mozilla or EFF or Thunderbird Foundation. I think it will be better (yet longer process) if government can regulate big tech, much like what the European Union did with GDPR.

  • Polish Border Bazaars | ARTE.tv Documentary

All over Europe, prices are rising with rampant inflation. At the border bazaar in Łęknica, Poland  this is not the case: Local stalls and shops have to keep prices low so as not to scare off German customers - the main buyers who cross the border looking for bargains. But low prices are not without consequences in a country where inflation is one of the highest in Europe. How do you make money, live with dignity and not lose customers in the process?

What developments in the Linux world are you looking forward to the most?
  • For now i just want color management on Wayland KDE.

  • What is something really stupid you purchased that turned out far better than expected?
  • Local made products. In my case it's LED lamps. It was started when i read articles on LED and in the end i was searching if there are locally made LED lamps and i found out there are some and they are quiet huge since they are doing contract making road lamps for the government.

So i look for the brand on the popular ecommerce platform and i was surprised that the price is like a quarter of the popular imported brand such as Philips, although the Lumens per Watt is lower (110 Lumens per watt). I was skeptical and hesitated to buy it at first fearing it'll become useless junk. But i took the chance and order it anyway.

I received the product the next day, four 3000K color Lamp. I'm testing it first before permanently installing it and what really surprised me the Lamp does not gets hot, only lukewarm, i guess its because of the board design where the individual LED are not tightly packed.

I gradually replaced all LED lamps at home with locally made ones, they even have 4500K color which i installed for my gf room since shes doing a lot of times doing make up and i think that requires neutral color lighting.

  • Sri Lanka's economic crisis sparks exodus of thousands.

As Sri Lanka struggles to recover from its worst economic crisis in decades, its people are leaving for better opportunities abroad. Government figures suggest some 122,000 people have left the country till May this year - the same number that left the country in all of 2021! Faced with rising prices and growing poverty, their reasons for leaving are quite evident.
